Even if this was off the cuff, it’s not going to go over well with the sports bosses at CBS. The network’s golf analyst, David Feherty, writing a column in D Magazine about the George and Laura Bush moving to the Dallas area, says U.S. soldiers would shoot Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid:
“From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.”
I post this to point out that American “troops” that I’ve spoken with are not at all enamored with Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid. It might be because Pelosi worked against their efforts to succeed in Iraq, and Harry Reid flat out said the war was lost at the very same moment it was being won. It might be because they both tried to cut off supplies to American forces in combat just to get some good political PR. There’s probably a lot of reasons, but the point here is that the by and large the “troops” were not supported IN EFFECT or even in rhetoric by Democratic Party leaders, and many people-myself included-often hear from “troops” that the frustration is much much MUCH higher than Democrats and opponents of the American forces efforts to succeed in Iraq might realize.

I have confidence that the soldier would do the right thing … step out of the elevator and allow the Democrats to exercise ‘Smart Power’ and negotiate with bin Laden.
The outcome of course would be Pelosi would exit the elevator wearing a burkah, Reid following along waving a white flag… President Obama holds a press conference and announces he knows where bin Laden is and acorn representatives will be escorting bin Laden to the UN building in NY which is the new home of the Gitmo residents.

I don’t understand why CBS’s GOLF ANALYST is writing a column with crap like this in the first place. His editor should have yanked that paragraph.
All this does is feed the lefty/Janet Napolitano moonbattery that our troops are a greater threat than the terrorists.
I can fully understand why our troops would loathe Pelosi and Reid. But I am certain that none of them would exercise their disgust with violence.
I know it’s a joke, but I don’t find it funny.
Even as a golf analyst, Feherty should have enough experience with CBS to know that the truth is seldom welcome. And it is a truth which is quite reassuring. When Hussein imposes martial law on the American people, some of the troops will be firing on us but a goodly number will have their weapons trained on the Capital!
The point is the bigger threat to the country is Pelosi and Reid. Osama, since Tora Bora may not be dead, but his production values have sure dropped.
I read this quote on another site and had a beer snort, I should have swallowed before reading when I saw his name.
When I get my copy of Golf Digest, the first thing I do is turn to Ferherty’s column. He is a very good humorist and can be raw and biting at times. He is very much in check during his television work for the golf coverage.
Think about the things that were said and written about Bush by so called mainstream journalists and then the garbage spewed by the leftist web sites. And then remember, the left always claimed it was satire.
Ferherty’s piece is satire. Accept it for what it is. Sit back and enjoy the show while the left spits and sputters about how unfair he is.
