Dems Actually TRYING to Make Pakistan Collapse to Al Queda

Loading

Failed Presidential Candidate and war hero/anti-war hero Senator John Kerry is adamant that strict conditions be put on aid for the weak Pakistani government. That government is begging that the terms be removed so that it can maintain some sort of control over its people, its region, its ballistic missiles aimed at the billion people in neighboring India, and its 100 nuclear bombs.

Democrats like Kerry…don’t seem to care.

The Daily Times of Pakistan also reported that about 200 Taliban stormed terminals storing NATO supplies in North-West Frontier Province capital Peshawar on Sunday, killing a guard and torching a dozen vehicles.

Last Thursday, Pakistan’s ambassador to the U.S., Husain Haqqani, said in Washington “the world is not a problem for America to fix” and that the aid package before Congress was too “intrusive” and disregarded Pakistan’s ability to be self-accountable for the funds.

“A company at the verge of failure is quite clearly able to get a bigger bailout than a nation that has been accused of failure,” Haqqani said at the Atlantic Council. “That’s something that in this town needs a review.”

“the world is not a problem for America to fix” so says Haqqani…but give us your money. I am for spending the time and effort to cultivate another country, but (forgive me if I missed it somewhere) what exactly does Pakistan propose to do? I will have to read a bit more about this, but I have yet to see what their proposal is in specifics. Fighting al qaeda and allowing the US to actively engage the bad guys ought ot somehow be worked into this deal. Open ended stuff hasn’t been tremendously successful – maybe Flopping Aces could expound on this to a greater extent. Thanks.

The Pakistani press has a different take:

No conditions on aid: Kerry

* US senator says welfare, not war on terror, will define mutual ties
* Says terrorism did not begin after drone attacks
* PM wants Islamabad and Washington to work on trust deficit

ISLAMABAD: Washington will not put any conditions on its aid to Islamabad, but will recommend tools to measure its effectiveness, US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry said on Monday.

Addressing a press conference with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi after a series of important meetings with top Pakistani officials, Kerry promised that his country’s long-term ties with Pakistan would not be defined by response to extremism militancy, but by its focus on the welfare of Pakistani people.

He said he would introduce the bill for $1.5 billion annual aid to Pakistan over the next 10 years in the Senate after he returns to the US.

Originally it was going to be $7-8billion w strings attached by Dems (of which only $2.8 was to fight overseas contingency operations against the Al Queda militant network of violent opposition). Now it seems it’s going to be $1.5billion over 10yrs, but no strings attached. NICE. That’ll bring UBL to the US in an orange jumpsuit while keeping Pakistan from falling to the Al Queda militant network. Oh yeah.

We should make it real easy for them:

OBL and the top 5 leaders will get you 1 billion cash to spend as you please. You have 1 year or you get nothing. Bodies will be accepted.

5 billion will be promised over 5 years, but for every Paki we kill of capture in Afghanistan, we will subtract 10 million.
