PhotobucketFrom whatever faith, or none at all, I wish you the joy of Easter.

Two versions of the Pie Jesu for those who enjoy it:

Pie Jesu, pie Jesu
[Merciful Jesus]
Qui tollis peccata mundi Dona eis requiem, dona eis requiem
[Who takes away the sins of the world grant them rest]
Agnus Dei
[Lamb of God]
Sempiternam
[Grant them everlasting rest]
Sempiternam
Requiem

Happy Easter ALL!

Happy Easter to you, too, Mike, and God Bless. Easter is my favorite holiday/time of year because the meaning of it is what gives me hope in all of life. Without the resurrection of Christ, there’d be no hope, in my opinion, and no true Life.

I love the daffodils…they were my dad’s favorites and he’d call them “buttercups”! He was from the South, so perhaps that’s a southern expression.

@SoCal Chris: Happy Easter to you SoCal.

And the flowers are Narcissus “Hawera” blooming in the Mike’s America southern garden.

@Mike’s America:

You’re kidding?! I thought for sure they were daffodils!! But, if they are in Mike’s America’s southern garden, I’ll have to concede! They are beautiful, though. Not sure what my dad would have called those…probably buttercups since he’d probably think they were daffodils, too! :)

@SoCal Chris: Narcussus is the botanical name for the family of Daffodil. “Hawera” is the variety. It’s all the same really so your Dad was correct.

Mike, I think if we met each other not knowing each others’ politics, we’d get along beautifully. Happy Easter!

@Cary:

Gosh Cary, you seem to be saying in your comment that you are incapable of getting along with someone who has differing political views once you become aware of their views.

How sad for you.

Happy Easter everyone!

@Aye Chihuahua:

Not saying that at all, Aye. Sorry if I made it sound as such. I have close friends from many political spectrums, and we get along great. My point is that Mike and I have more in common than it would seem from the discussions on this political blog.

I wish you and yours a wonderful Easter holiday as well.

@Cary:

Well, I’m glad to hear that.

Believe it or not, you’d more than likely be able to form friendships with a great many of us here if you gave it a chance even if we do hold one anothers’ feet to the fire on political stuff. And facts. We’re big, BIG on facts here. Nothing will put you in the conversational bulls-eye like a lack of factual backing.

I am guessing that gardening may be an interest of yours but that’s only a guess. If so, then you and I have that in common as well. In fact I spent the day working in the garden.

You should stick around here Cary. Seriously.

Don’t feel like you have to just lurk. Come on in. The water’s just fine. You may get splashed here and there but we will all have a great time together in the pool.

@Aye Chihuahua:

Thank you, Aye. I appreciate that. I don’t want to divert this thread from Easter and it’s meaning, to one about me, so I’ll leave it here. But I do appreciate your words, and would be more than willing to continue the conversation in private. Since you’re an author here (congrats, btw), I trust you have access to my email address.

And again, Happy Easter.

Happy Easter, one and all!

I knew exactly what you meant. It shouldn’t be surprising at all that those on the left and right get to mostly know one another through their political identity only, since, if we stay on topic on a political blog, our differences is what’s going to stand out.

Would make a hilarious script if two people who got along great in the “real” world were posting scathing attacks on one another’s cyber identity on a political forum, without knowing that they were getting into heated exchanges with one another. Then they start talking to one another about what they’ve been doing online, mentioning the s.o.b. they’ve been having problems with….until it finally dawns on them that the s.o.b.s they’re talking about are each other.

Happy Easter all!

If you visit Mike’s site, you will be treated to beautiful photos of the flowers in Mike’s gardens he generously shares. So far, all we have are a crocus here and there and a promise of grape hyacynths coming soon and my daffodils are budding. I envy Mike’s early spring, wish we could have spring all year, I love it.

I forgot to say Happy Easter to EVERYONE at Flopping Aces! May you all make special memories with family and friends this Easter holiday. In other words, have a “hopping” good time! :)

@Missy: Spring here turns into summer very quickly and then the heat and humidity come…. So I doubt you’ll be envying me much in July… or June or even May.

As for friendships outside the faith? Difficult for people who are so invested in their cause. But it is possible.

And thank you So Cal. Happy Easter to everyone!
