Plus… guess what Dems want to tax next?

As published in the Times Record News:

Taxed to excess

Dear IRS,

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.

I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can’t recall but I have run out of space and money.

When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.

P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

Is there any aspect of American life that isn’t taxed? Not many and not for long….

New York State wants a stripper tax:

STRIPPER TAX IS HARD TO ‘BARE’
By BRENDAN SCOTT
New York PostMarch 11, 2009

ALBANY – Call it an un-cover charge.

A Brooklyn assemblyman introduced a bill yesterday that would require patrons to pay the state $10 every time they visit a strip club or topless joint.

Felix Ortiz, a Democrat, said the flesh fee could raise as much as $500 million for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse and child prostitution.

States have increasingly turned to the adult-entertainment industry to help close budget gaps in recent years.

Texas lawmakers are fighting to save a similar $5 “pole tax,” which was struck down as unconstitutional by a state judge.

Gov. Paterson, facing a $14 billion budget deficit, has proposed a tax on Internet downloads that would also apply to Web porn.

“The bottom line is, we have to protect people who have been victimized by unscrupulous individuals, and we cannot continue, especially in this economy, to have government pay for everything,” Ortiz said.

“and we cannot continue, especially in this economy, to have government pay for everything,” Can I quote him on that? Sounds like a good global statement to me.

I thought Congress had outlawed pole taxes and here’s NY trying to reimpose them. For shame.

He is going to get a form letter stating to pay up. When he doesn’t, he’ll get audited and then slapped with fines and probably jail time. I’m not exactly a tax expert, but that letter is cute – and the IRS doesn’t give a hoot about cute.

As far as democrats taxing.. May I laugh? The country went into a shithole over the last 8 republican years and why? They COULD have cut spending – like on the futile effort in Iraq. Funneled that money back to the people of the USA and done great things. Instead, the money went to the coffers of huge defense contract companies. And they managed to piss off people in Iraq, while getting nowhere politically there.

Nice.

And now we’re in a crisis? Because of something else..? No gentlemen. Democrat or Republican, it doesn’t matter. It’s the SPENDING that needs to be controlled, regardless of who is in power. The republicans just made a mess of it, and the democrats are continuing the effort with all their earmarked pledges, 9000? Seriously.. Letting the federal reserve operate in secrecy doesn’t do wonders for the economy either. Whether you’re printing money, or stealing it from tax payers, it’ll still be costly in the long run.

As far as taxes go. Other countries have excellent health care (for everyone) excellent social systems (for everyone) and free schooling (for everyone) – that is funded by taxes. Ask any of them, if they would really want it differently, and the majority will tell you it’s great that you don’t have to worry. The taxes, yeah they suck – but that’s the cost of having a great society.
- Unlike the one in the USA where everything is set up to drain your pockets of cash.
