Ripped Off At Best Buy

Loading

This is completely non-political in nature but I had to link to it. My server guru, and the man who has kept this blog afloat through some hack attempts and other problems with the server had a interesting experience at Best Buy where the store actually repackaged a used camera as new and sold it to him. He’s posted about it on his blog:

Anyway, have you ever heard of “PhotoRescue Expert”? It’s a really nice application that allows you to recover images you may have accidently deleted. Wouldn’t it be awesome if I was able to run that application and scan the camera to see if I could recover any of those “demo” photos?

Oh but wait, I did. Due to the fact we had taken a couple photos before we realized the camera wasn’t working right, the first couple images were not recoverable.

The first photo showed a young black woman sitting on a bed. The second shot showed the empty bed with the camera box sitting at the end of the bed. The third shot… Oh, here, you can see the third shot for yourself. You can see the woman and the headboard in this photo.

Go check it out…

Michael is not the guy any store wants to mess with.

oh
my
gawd!

LOVE the pics of the Geek Squad guy. That’s just classic.

Hope you call (don’t email, but CALL) the local tv stations. They’ll bite on this like sharks in chum-soaked seas.

Best Buy….ya either love em or hate em. I’ve had good luck, but as soon as you walk past security, I think we all know that it’s buyer beware. They need a sign that says, “Here thar be monsters”

So I got to come all the way over to this side of the world wide web to find a story about a guy who lives up the road from me? I wonder what the carbon tax on that little trip is?
I would certainly go in to the store hinting that I didn’t bring the best pictures with me and maybe an upgrade is called for.

i bought a “new” cordless phone at target and when i charged that battery up and plugged it in it had the directory all filled up with phone numbers fromt he other side of the state which has a totally ffferent area code. i called target and they were sure ii was misstaken. i took the phone back and they plugged it in and found what i did and then they checked the call history and it was all for 2 months prior and most of the calls were also fromt he other side of the state. the manger fell all over himself to wxplain this was a highly unusal case and gave me a far better ohone and a gift card for my hassle. i was impressed by the store managers professional behavior and how it was all handled.
