Usually these are characterized as mostly civilians. This time it’s almost all Taliban (perhaps gathered to discuss peace in the SWAT territory?).

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 16 (UPI) — At least 31 people died Monday in a remote area of Pakistan in what seems to be a U.S. missile strike, a witness and a Pakistani government official said.

The attack by the pilotless aircraft occurred near Parachinar, a town near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the semi-autonomous Kurram tribal region, The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) reported Monday. A government official said those killed were all thought to be Taliban militants.

The official and a resident both said U.S. drone aircraft were seen in the area before the strike near the village of Sur Pul. The target was a camp used by Taliban militants, the government official said.

The missile attacks by CIA-operated drones have been aimed at foreign al-Qaida and Taliban militants who hide in Pakistan. Pakistani authorities have criticized the strikes, sharing their complaints with Richard Holbrooke, U.S. President Barack Obama’s representative to Pakistan and Afghanistan, who is on a “listening tour” in the region.

The latest attack came a day after government officials and Taliban militants seemed close to reaching an agreement to end violence in Swat, also in northern Pakistan, the Times said. Militants there declared a 10-day cease-fire and the government indicated it was ready to accept the introduction of Islamic law.

It would only be an attack that killed mostly civilians if Bush were still President. Everyone knows Dems don’t do that.

mostly civilians?!?!?! C’mon seriously Mike, get with the program. It would be babies, kittens, puppies and the dreams of little children across the world, that were destroyed in that raid. They would also be sure to include a close up picture of a shoe on the ground and a cover story that says, ‘children ripped limb-by-limb in latest bombing by Bush’. There would be testimonies and eyewitnesses of people that saw Bush flying on top of the drone and dropping the bombs himself.

Soon the left will claim it wasn’t a missile strike but an accident. The terrorists were disarming defective explosives (provided by Bush) and they exploded killing dozens of babies and puppie dogs.

The hypocrisy is so obvious. Obama can launch attacks in Pakistan without one complaint from the media or Leftist Peaceniks. Feinstein can give away secrets to our enemies without one outcry from anyone.

I just want to see how the Democrats will fight terrorists without the Peaceniks throwing a fit. The honeymoon will soon be over. Wait until we accidently kill women and children. (It’s war. It happens.) Let’s see how the Peacnilks treat Obama then.

This is where the GWOT should be focused – here and Afganistan. Pakistan is supposed to be an ally and yet with its porous borders and Taleban – and no doubt – infiltration – it’s unstable and dangerous. And it’s also got nukes.
