Wow. Amazing. She tore Mr. Obama a new one. And the kid saying Obama should be impeached. Libs’ heads must be exploding even as we speak.

Our friend, Mr. Swenchonis, refused to meet with President Obama.

What the families who went and met with the President had to say:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/06/AR2009020603516.html?hpid=topnews

Lorie Van Auken, a leader of September 11th Advocates, a group headed by four New Jersey women who lost their husbands in the attacks, called the meeting “impressive,” saying Obama gave detailed answers to their questions and allayed many of their concerns. She said the president did not rule out some form of military commissions in the future and acknowledged shortcomings in dealing with terrorism suspects in regular criminal courts.

“He acknowledged this was quite a mess and it really needed to be looked at by his legal team and by him,” said Van Auken, whose husband, Kenneth Van Auken, was killed in the World Trade Center and whose group supports closing Guantanamo Bay. “I think everybody recognized, no matter which side of the issue they’re on, that this is a quagmire that will not be solved easily.”

Mindy Kleinberg, another member of the group, said Obama also made clear that “nobody is just going to get freed by the closing of Guantanamo.”

“I think the point was that you have to make sure they have a system in place that can actually work,” said Kleinberg, whose husband, Alan Kleinberg, also died in the World Trade Center. “I think even the people who came to the meeting who wanted to keep it open could understand his point of view.”

And, further:

Mindy Kleinberg, another member of the group, said Obama also made clear that “nobody is just going to get freed by the closing of Guantanamo.”

What the President himself said:

Obama told the group that he was only hitting the “pause button” when he sought the suspension of proceedings against 21 detainees, including Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks. And he assured the group that he wants the swift prosecution of those responsible for the terrorist attacks and their facilitators.

Finally, what the commanding officer of the USS Cole said:

Kirk S. Lippold, former commanding officer of the USS Cole, which was bombed in Yemen in 2000, emerged from the White House sounding much more open to Obama’s decisions than he had earlier.

“The most important thing that came out of this for me and for many of the families there was the fact that the president agreed to have an open door,” he said outside the White House.

“There was passion and emotion, but it was enormously respectful,” Peterson said. “I was extremely satisfied and impressed with his facility with the issues and his genuine commitment to take into consideration the views of family members who want to see Guantanamo rehabilitated, not dispensed with.”

What was truly nauseating was the way Fox News exploited that poor woman’s grief. “I’m so sorry for your loss,” the interviewer said, at one point; certainly the most insincere statement I’ve heard anyone make recently. And he actually asked for her opinion on the President’s actions, in terms of how it may affect anti-terrorism effectiveness, asking a push question about the President “kowtowing” to terrorists. Knowing full well what her, emotionally-fueled, but otherwise uninformed answer would be.

Larry: What was truly nauseating was the way Fox News exploited that poor woman’s grief. “I’m so sorry for your loss,” the interviewer said, at one point; certainly the most insincere statement I’ve heard anyone make recently. That’s funny, Larry as that “truly nauseating” exploitation went on full thrust when the media would interview the Cindy Sheehan’s of the world during the Bush admin. Granted you weren’t around FA at that time, but I have to wonder if you were just as offended and nauseated for that similar exploitation and their “otherwise uninformed” responses.

Personally, I knew this is what Susan Crawford would do. It was their only answer to Pohl’s refusal to put the process on “pause”.

I also knew that once Obama got them in front of him, he would be saying that he just wanted to put things on hold while he decided how to deal with them.

Yet here we are… holding detainees without charging them while the POTUS figures out how to handle them. The very same thing Bush was doing when his efforts to use the legislation from Congress were thwarted by challenges, effectively putting the process on “hold”. And media, ACLU and liberal community screamed loud and long. Here’s Obama doing the same, and all the sudden it’s “understandable”.

Feh…

I have to wonder if Obama was honest enough to tell them they’d either end up in a military court (just like it is NOW), or in the US federal court system where our evidence laws are likely to set them free.

So color me skeptical on Obama’s promise that “nobody is just going to get freed by the closing of Guantanamo.” If we had so many freed that returned to the terrorist battleground (despite their now obvious guilt) because the evidence wasn’t even strong enough for the more lenient military tribunal, and we can’t hold them as terrorist combatants, then any US court of law is apt to give them a pass. They will not only be free, but have access to our courts for “needless pain and suffering”, and be walking around on our soil.

Quagmire, indeed.

The families said Obama spoke of details…what details? To this day no one knows what Obama will do for policy until the day it’s implemented. The only policy that we know of is the disarmament of the US. A couple of days ago, the Pentagon has to cut 10%. Obama wants to have another treaty with Russia to eliminate the majority of our nukes(never mind China). All this while his administration slowly implodes.

The MSM were behind this guy 100% during the campaign. It’s not surprising to hear of this kind of reporting.

You know when Obama is lying with his mouth is moving.

Larry, Larry, Larry.

How many times did we have family members (of deceased/wounded soldiers) who spoke out against Bush being touted by the MSM? Yet I wonder how many times you questioned that. Hmmmmm. I guess they were brave for airing their disgust over Bush, yet this lady is just plain “exploited”. Can you say double-standard?

Heck, do you REMEMBER the hate movie that came out a few years ago showing Bush being ASSASINATED? The culprit was a soldier whose son died in Iraq. Remember??? Well?

You seem miffed on how FOX treated this woman….well, you need to buck up boyo because some aren’t going to be fawning fans of Obama. Some will not buy into the spin nor agree with the President. To quote a previous posters….two words……Cindy Sheehan. Gee, lot of libs didn’t seem to mind the exploitatation of her. And once Cindy no longer served their purpose (or when she started to nag Democrats) they dumped her like a can of pop.

Let me get this straight. This mother surfaces eight years after losing her son, agrees to an interview with FOX so she’s exploited by FOX. Just why was she on FOX anyway?

Because Obama chose to score a few points, and he used(exploited) 40 families who lost loved ones in both the USS Cole bombing and 911 for politics. Behold, the Jersey girls just happen to be in the group and wonder of wonders, they get their names and comments in the paper. Ever heard of them before? Ever seen them on NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, etc. or read of them in newspapers and magazines? Ever note their politics, they were very vocal, still are?

Larry, how do you square one being exploited, but not the others? Those that you used(exploited) as a source in your comment.
