Hardline demonstrators burn posters of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, during a demonstration in support of the people of Gaza, in front of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran January 13, 2009.

The day before, President-elect Obama was on ABC News:

Speaking on the ABC News program “This Week,” Mr. Obama reiterated that he wanted to work directly with Iran — a country whose president has called for Israel’s destruction — to improve relations and halt a nuclear program that Tehran describes as peaceful, but that the West believes is not.

“We are going to have to take a new approach,” he told the program’s host, George Stephanopoulos. “My belief is that engagement is the place to start.”

Mr. Obama said he wanted to adopt “a new emphasis on respect and a new willingness on being willing to talk” to the Iranians, while making it clear “that we also have certain expectations.”

Hmmm, call me crazy, but…I’m not all that optimistic.

They probably had them left over from the campaign and needed to burn them to keep warm. We all will need to do the same very soon.

Reminds me of the NBC newsreader who was flabbergasted that terrorists would strike in Bombay since she was so sure the mere election of Obama was ushering in an era of peace and love.

Reminds me of The Path to 9/11 when they showed that, whaddaya know!, the Arab world was not in love with America and Bill Clinton during the 1990s and was burning big pictures of him. Went completely against the revisionist history of the Left that America was loved in the world prior to Jan 2001 and the election of President Bush was what turned the world against us.

Shocking, I say! Shocking! That these Iranian ne’r do wells and ruiffians should have the unmitigated gall to burn the effigy of the as yet un inaugurated President of the US of A, is a breach of etiquette of brogidigian proportions! I can only conclude that they ran out of Bush images about six monthes ago.

I ask you. What is next from these creatures? Hanging Biden or Hillary effigies! The very Idea!

Harumph!

Obama says, ‘let’s talk,” and Iranians respond w crowds screaming, ‘DEATH TO AMERICA!’ while images of Obama burn in the background.

When it comes to Iran,

talk<>peace
(and Obama’s talk followed by their actions prove it)

Take note also that in that same interview, Obama reminds us that Iran is going to be one of the first things he deals with as President next week. I am SO SO SO looking forward to Hillary Clinton presenting evidence of Iranian WMD to the UNSC, and hearing Obama talk about how airstrikes are necessary because of Iran’s WMD and ties to terror. Yeah, that’s gonna be one for the ages!!!!

QUESTION: will the nutjobs in SanFran protest The Infallible One?

Don’t the Iranians know Obama gets mad when he gets dissed?

The guy is going to have his hands on the nuclear football in a week. The Iranians better be careful.

@Mike’s America:

I wonder if PEBHO will break out the ‘middle finger nose scratch’ during his first press conference about Iran. Or maybe he’ll break out his lipstick on a pig or wrapped old fish references again somehow.

Then again, maybe his speech writers will keep ‘Teleprompter Jesus’ on his ‘hope’ and ‘change’ message.

Does anyone really think that the Progressive Marxist Left will let up on Bush? I don’t think so. Their BDS is so ingrained by now that they will never let up on him.
Just look how the PML still feels about Ronald Reagan.
President Bush #43, has been a good President for this country. Like all humanity President Bush has made mistakes. He himself has noted some of his mistakes. Yet, the Left continues to dwell upon them. NOT HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
I wonder how the Left will handle the coming attacks on American soil and the loss of American lives under Obama?
BTW, I predict that before 2009 is completed America will suffere one or more attacks.

I have to admit, I can get behind the burning of Obama pictures.

/I denounce myself for that racist comment.

Some of you must be really torn as to whether you want to stand shoulder to shoulder to those nutty Iranians and burn images of your next President.
