Barack Obama Is Not Even President Yet

Loading

This article’s got lots of fuel for the Obama fans, and it closes very well imo (though I can think of at least 6 “first mistakes” that it left out). What’s remarkable to me is that even when given a partial list of the Obama administration’s fubars-as listed by leftist/Obama supporting sites-Obama supporters often deny any and all mistakes; dismiss them, degrade them. I’ve even seen them declare that in the time between being elected and being sworn in…he can do no wrong because, “Barack Obama isn’t even President yet.”

While those same supporters suggest that his opponents (almost half the nation) “give the man a chance” (ie ignore his mistakes until X/Y/ZZ) there’s a simply delicious irony that the right and Obama’s opponents are enjoying right now. That irony is that as every day goes by, Obama’s Administration is either
1) screwing up so bad that even his friendly media recognize it
2) changing his policies, positions, and promises to not only match, but EXCEED the hated George W Bush policies and John McCain promises
3) proving that it IS NOT INFALLIBLE

When Gov. Bill Richardson withdrew his nomination as commerce secretary earlier this week, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell declared it “the Obama team’s first misstep.”

On Nov. 7 — just three days after the election — Los Angeles’ KNBC said Obama’s flubbed joke about Nancy Reagan and séances was his “first misstep.”

On Nov. 14, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wrote a Huffington Post piece on Obama’s economic advisory team titled “President-Elect Obama’s First Big Mistake.”

Nov. 19, Michael Goodwin of the New York Daily News said Obama’s secretary of state dealings with Hillary Clinton might just have been “his first big mistake.”

On Nov. 5, the American Prospect wondered whether reports that Obama was considering Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Environmental Protection Agency might qualify as his “first mistake.”

Obama decided to ask Pastor Rick Warren to give the inaugural invocation. Everyone from the Washington Blade to Fox News piled on with versions of the first-big-blunder story. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called Obama’s choice “the first big mistake of his post-election politicking.”

While the Blagojevich scandal prompted a few more “first mistake” rumblings, the press seemed to have decided that the president-elect’s first mistake had come and gone — until Monday, when NBC gave Team Obama another mulligan.

once the media’s master narrative has been set, it is hard to change it — and in this case, the transition had been declared “breathtakingly, historically, spectacularly successful” by mid-December, says Rosenstiel. Mistake stories, he explains, haven’t gained traction because they “don’t seem to fit with the declared verdict about this transition.”

When asked to posit why the “first mistake” story had been around the block so many times, Obama’s team declined the opportunity: “We will leave the punditry to the pundits while we focus on putting together an economic plan that will provide working families the relief they need,” said spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

Saying more, of course, might have been their first mistake.

So here is a challenge to Flopping Aces readers:
One post at a time, let’s have some fun and list the Obama ADministration mistakes that are not listed in this article, and are dismissed by his supporters/adorers.

His First big Mistake was in running for the presidency. HE is in WAY WAY over his head….
And I think he is beginning to realize it. If the situation were not so critical I would be thoroughly enjoying myself

“while we focus on putting together an economic plan that will provide working families the relief they need,” said spokeswoman Jen Psaki.”

Psaki is at least partially honest, they are set to ‘give’ to the worthless what others have earned, and right out of the pocket of those who earned it.

An act which will put more debt on the American people with one stroke of the pen than GWB put on in eight (8) years.

Will we hear cheers or screams from the left that the ‘chosen one’, B Hussien O is destroying America, or has the Lame Stream Media completed the brainwashing? The democrats are more than willing to institute Communism and it’s been pushed for years by the Communist News Network (CNN), aided by the rest of the LSM who do it out of hate for America and Americans.

In ten (10) days GWB will be back in Tx and the lefties will still be crazy. There is no cure for stupid, or BDS. Will the SS system start awarding disability payments on the basis of BDS since it is a non curable, self inposed, mental illness the same as Post Trumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS)?

LOL! Quite a few “first mistakes.”

Can’t top Lorraine! I think one of his first mistakes is believing his own hype. Heal the planet, Indeed! Hope it doesn’t take too long for the dew to come of the rose of the media!

Aww look everyone, it’s our pet Obamaton. Check the mirror Mike D…you’ve got a Kool Aid mustache

Is Odummer smarter than a fith grader. Sure, they don’t have grades in Indonesia.

Does anyone else notice, Odummer doesn’t seem to think people heard what he said yesterday when he gives a speech today. Are we in for the endless campaign lies day after day, which is exactly what Hugo Chavez does? And when all goes wrong, he blames his cabinet minister. Now Odummer says each new job will cost about $200,000 per job, that’s cool.

Just wait.

Remember all the fawning liberals running down to Venezuela to lick his boots, now you know why, they were studying.

If you haven’t seen it, you would be wise to watch the Frontline PBS video,”The Hugo Chavez Show” for details.

Clarification for Scott’s post #5 for the latecomers…. it appears DW/DW5000/DimWit/DeadWeight/MikesDumbmerica/Mike’sD slipped thru the spam filter. I found him already in there when I “took out the trash” this AM. So that’s why you’re not seeing “Mike’sD” post Scott refers to. And it’s unlikely you’ll see them in the future.

Not commenting on Gaza was his first mistake.
Commenting on Gaza was his first mistake.
Suggesting Burris could not be seated was his first mistake.
Accepting Burris will be seated was his first mistake.
Naming outsiders to positions for which they have no experience was his first mistake.
Not naming outsiders who have no connection to tainted positions was his first mistake.

Which Obama are we talking about? The guy changes positions with the winds and then acts like those were his positions all along. Sooner or later, the whole novelty, etc., thing is going to wear off and Obama is going to find out why presidents leave office looking years older and grayer.

Obama first and only real mistake since becoming President elect was his choice of Clinton for Secretary of State. All this other bullshit is just a media trying to fill airtime and nitpicky internet bloggers with way too much time on their hands.

The Clinton move was probably to placate some internal Democratic party politics, but I don’t see how it was done in the best interest of the country.

Funny you mention that, Fit. I did post back on Nov 24th about the enigma of a SOS Clinton. I have to say it doesn’t fit with Obama’s game plan, nor Hillary’s. So I wonder about the back door political deals… as that post explores. Frankly, I can’t see Hillary being a “yes sir” kind of girl to Obama for any length of time. She would serve at Obama’s pleasure…. which could end at his whim. So what’s the trade off, ya think?

What is it with this “first mistake” bullshit? Everytime he opens his mouth it is a mistake. There are so many, that no one could count them.

Personally, I think that Hill and Bill have something on Obama and they used that as leverage to get the appointment to SoS as well as to get more power, access, and authority than any SoS in the history of the country.

I find the appointment of all the former Clintonians to Obie’s admin to be another curious element to all of this.

If they don’t have something that they are holding over his head then perhaps they struck a quiet deal regarding her campaign debts.

Aye,

They have something on him. They know he is not elible for POTUS, they all know, but too coward to speak, they do not want to look like racists… lol

My guess is that a deal was cut back in June. She did over 70 campaign events for him. Way more than any other losing primary candidate.

So you agree there is probably some deal, Fit…. you do not say what you think it is. Speculation welcome… dat’s all we got! LOL

But her doing 70 campaign events for him does not nullify her risk and sacrifices by taking this job. If fact, that’s all “give” by Hillary and all “take” by Obama.

Rather than reiterate what I’ve already presented, scan my post linked above. Then “speculate” away….

See, I can’t figure out why Hillary would take the SoS job, thereby giving up her Senate seat. Why would she want to serve at Obama’s pleasure when she has a nice cushy job in the Senate now? There has to be some sort of a quid pro quo agreement covering more than just campaign debt. And knowing the Arkansas Mafia, it has to be pretty bad to rattle the Chicago cronyism and corruption The One brings to the table.

Obama and the Ugly New UnAmerican United States

A few Excerpts:

“If all that it takes for Barack Obama to reassure the American people that we will have better days ahead are a bank of unfurled flags behind him and delivering a left-over canned election speech, then Barack Obama’s job would be done and we could have peace about his intent. But, as of now, all I can see is a little man being propped up by his unseen speech writers who are trying hard to make him appear Presidential”….
“…The snakes are on the move. They are crawling all over the United States Constitution and slithering underneath the underbelly of all that has become seamy in American society, such as abortions on demand, bailouts instead of working economies, socialism instead of capitalism, union handouts and card check, same-sex marriages, medical suicide, universal healthcare, welfare, and whatever else comes down the pike that is outside of commonsense. And enacting those issues are forever changing the face of our “One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.” …

“…Shame on America for allowing this nation to move so far away from Godly values, morals, traditions, justice, and truth. It is bad enough but not hopeless, as Obama would have Americans to believe. Even though those aforementioned attributes have been gutted from America like a catfish and it may appear that nothing remains but the decaying bones to stick it to Americans, nothing could be further from the truth. The fundamental foundation of the United States Constitution remains in place as a steadying factor for whatever may come or go.”…

“… Does anyone believe that America has become so low that she will accept anything or anybody but the very best to lead her people? Does America have to be brought down to her knees before she will wake up and show her strength to resist any such attempts to undercut her long history of being “of the people, by the people, and for the people?” Never. Not as long as the American people understand that the United States Congress stands between the Executive and the Judicial Branches of government to make certain the people they have elected to represent all Americans will not be undercut in any way by any unprecedented move by anyone to unilaterally change or go so far as to try to wipe out the entire constitution by instituting a coalition government like his Kenyan cousin, Raila Odinga did and then he made himself the Prime Minister with power and authority over the currently serving Kenyan African President. Don’t think Obama would not try that in America. After all, he was instrumental in helping Odinga to get elected in 2006, when Obama was a United States Senator.”…

“… There can be no “transparency” until Barack Obama or some tenacious investigator proves his place of birth and whether or not he is legally qualified to serve in such a prestigious office as the President of the United States. To date, Obama and our government have refused to get that done. So we remain mystified”….

What Obama’s plan says to me is that once he has helped to totally bankrupt America, then Americans will look to government (read, “Obama”) as the savior they thought him to be to rescue them. Then Americans would look to Obama for all of their needs.

“…Goal fully accomplished! Socialism. Communism. Dictatorship. Before anybody thinks that is not likely, take time out to think about Vladimir Putin, the Castro Brothers, Hugo Chavez, Hitler, Idi Amin, and other dictators, most of whom Obama has known about personally, such as the Indonesian Presidents where he lived as a child and the African leadership he has known in recent years, as a native “son of Africa.” …

I found this blogger’s opining quite entertaining…

On Leon Panetta:

I am no intelligence expert, so I will withhold judgment. I’m sure Obama put a great deal of thought into his selection.

But, in the back of my mind, I had my own fantasy about the appointment. I dreamt that Obama appointed Joe Wilson or Valerie Plame Wilson to head up the CIA.

What beautiful irony that would be.

And, any humor aside, either one would probably be a fine choice for the job.

On Sanjay Gupta:

The trouble with Sanjay Gupta

When I heard the rumor that CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta is being considered for the job of Surgeon General, I started to worry about what this could mean for the future of health care in America.

Many of us are hoping that the Obama administration will provide health care coverage for all, and fix the problems with the current health care system that Michael Moore exposed in his movie Sicko.

And I thought about how Dr. Gupta tried so hard to discredit the claims Moore made in the movie, even though it turned out that Moore was right and Gupta was wrong.

When I sat down this morning to write about it, the first thing I came across in my research was a blog piece by New York Times columnist and Nobel laureate Paul Krugman, posted yesterday.

In it, Krugman points out the following:

So apparently Obama plans to appoint CNN’s Sanjay Gupta as Surgeon General. I don’t have a problem with Gupta’s qualifications. But I do remember his mugging of Michael Moore over Sicko. You don’t have to like Moore or his film; but Gupta specifically claimed that Moore “fudged his facts”, when the truth was that on every one of the allegedly fudged facts, Moore was actually right and CNN was wrong.

What bothered me about the incident was that it was what Digby would call Village behavior: Moore is an outsider, he’s uncouth, so he gets smeared as unreliable even though he actually got it right. It’s sort of a minor-league version of the way people who pointed out in real time that Bush was misleading us into war are to this day considered less “serious” than people who waited until it was fashionable to reach that conclusion. And appointing Gupta now, although it’s a small thing, is just another example of the lack of accountability that always seems to be the rule when you get things wrong in a socially acceptable way.

I’ll go a step further and ask if Gupta’s knee-jerk response to Moore, and his blatant disregard for the facts in the process, represents the kind of attitude we want at the highest levels of the medical profession in this country.

That’s not change we can believe in. It’s just more of the same.

For now, don’t get sick if you can’t afford it.

Michael Moore is wrong with his film Sico. Completely wrong. A complete fraud. Social medicine never worked and never will work. I posted many links to prove it on one of Mata’s thread on pharmaceutical stuff.

I am not following the Gupta issue, but I’ll bet Obama is appointing him for no other reason than to get some advantage for himself, maybe financial and political support from large medical, biomed and pharma coys or organisations, whatever.

All Obama’s appointments are not done for what is best for america: they are appointed on the basis of what is best for Obama, ie: how to consolidate and protect his new power.

It grieves me, but Americans have just elected a black, lite-version of Hitler as POTUS.

Back in January ’08 Hillary said in a campaign speech in New Hampshire that bho was not eligible to be PROTUS .I don’t think she gave any details but that may very well be what she has on him…..would anyone think for one minute that the Clintons left any stone unturned as they vetted bho for their own information…..I really fell sure that they have the goods on him…they are probably the dirtiest politicians on the planet with no sense of shame….
