Fireworks explode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House during a pyrotechnic show to celebrate the New Year January 1, 2009. Known for its choreographed and themed fireworks displays, this year’s show, nicknamed “The Creation Storm”, draws hundreds of thousands of people to the harbour foreshore to watch the spectacle.

Happy New Year everyone! Lovely photos Mike, thanks!

Hope you all are feeling fine this morning. We babysat for Mateo, our great-grandson, he wore us out and we failed to usher in the New Year with him. He did wake us up at 2am playing with Rio(our schweiner dog) for about 45 minutes, was cute, but would have been more fun if he would have saved the playtime for daytime.
