Looks like Blago has no intention of doing what he is told and go away quietly:
In a move intended to force public testimony from President-elect Barack Obama’s inner circle, a lawyer for Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois has asked the legislative panel considering impeachment of the governor to subpoena more than a dozen witnesses, including Obama’s incoming chief of staff.
State Representative Barbara Flynn Currie said yesterday the House committee received a letter from Blagojevich lawyer Ed Genson asking it to subpoena Representative Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and more than a dozen others, including Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.
Currie, the head of the committee, said she didn’t yet know what the committee’s response to Genson’s request would be.
However, she said that the US attorney’s office has denied the panel’s request to interview a list of people named in the criminal complaint against Blagojevich.
US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said earlier this week that lawmakers’ interviews of current or former members of Blagojevich’s staff might jeopardize his criminal investigation.

Well, it would be great if they were subpoenaed but come on, your asking a Illinois legislature that is full of Democrats who luv them some Bama to bring in Rahm? Won’t ever happen. Everyone knows Obama would not come out looking like the messiah….he either played ball with Blago, or knew what was going on and didn’t do a damn thing about it. Typical Chicago politics.

Good times! Maybe the gov. can be impeached on the word of Greg Craig’s Obama report exonerating Team Obama. He might have to file an amendment to that report. Something short like, “It’s all Blago’s fault” should be enough for Illinois Dem’s.
I think Blago is playing his cards. get the O team under oath and say that Blago didn’t offer them anything, or they thought he was kidding or nuts, but didn’t take him serious. And If any of the O team lies, well they get caught.
I think the Feds are in on the O team cover-up.
i think blago should take the rest of them down in flames with him. he knows he broke the law, we know he broke the law and he knows all the obama freaks that broke the law also. i think he should sing like the stool pigeon he is ment to be.
Funny how the Obama apologists are quick to blame everyone but him. Now, had this been Bush, it would be talk of how this is systemic of Bush politics.
Funny, though, when everyone around Obama has the stench of scandal, it somehow doesn’t touch Obama. Perhaps he has a lot of perfume.

On what grounds would the Illinois legislature impeach Blago? Has Fitzgerald released the tapes? Until he does there is no proof of malfeasance. Just the word of Fitzgerald which any thinking person would question. All this is so vague. All the dems in Illinois are hoping throwing Blago to the wolves will stop this witch hunt. It won’t. But Fitzgerald will pick and choose his victims. He will never bring Obama into this because this case is his ticket to job security or a better job. To offend Obama would put a hiatus on his career so he won’t do that. That is the problem with an uincoming dem administration. Any action taken against them will be punished to the max therefore justice will not be done re Obama’s campaign finances, ACORN, and voter fraud
Obama is coming into the presidency with many a cloud. His chief of staff will get a whitewash, his commerce secretary will also. As soon as Obama is in power these investigtions will cease. All the US attorneys will be fired and any of their investigations will halt. The dems will never admit the witch hunt of Bush firing 8 attorneys just like they have never admitted any malfeasance with Clinton firing all 93 US attorneys when he came into power. In actuality there was nothing illegal about either Clinton or Bush firing these guys. That was all just the dems grandstanding as usual. Do as I say not as I do. The rules are made for thee but not for me. Hypocrits all.
