Obama Admin Tells Left to STFU

Ahhhhhhh, another day, another wig out from the misled left. Gotta love it. IMO, centrists, even conservatives should be smiling at least a little bit. Why? Well, read the article AND THE COMMENTS, and kick back. It’s gives one that feeling of an ice cold Budweiser after cutting the grass on a 90-degree day. Thanks Missy!

People on the left are not looking at Obama’s appointments with a jaundiced eye because they think he needs to apply some liberal orthodoxy litmus test. They have legitimate concerns that people like Geitner, Summers and other Rubin acolytes created this mess, and it’s reasonable to ask why they’re being appointed to get us out of it. While some of us want to give Obama a chance to fulfill the promises he campaigned on and work with the staff of his choice in order to do so, we’d have to be a bunch of intellectually dishonest kool-aid swilling freaks to pretend his economics team didn’t have some troublesome baggage.

And after the past eight years, it’s a bit much to stomach someone saying “just shut up and trust me, because I know better.”

There is a lot of speculation right now about what will happen with the 13 million member email list the Obama campaign built, and there is some talk of Hildebrand running an organization that manages it.

I wonder how long those membership numbers will hold up when any criticism of Obama is greeted with patronizing lectures and sneering condescension for its liberals?

Everybody got pwned.

But the silver lining of left pwned as well provides a nice relief.
What did they expect from a guy that has almost no track record, fuzzy and dubious history, membership in Chicago political machine? I mean DUH!

Hopefully, BHO is not as fascist as I think he is (fascism as a socialist/corporatist ideology–read the manifesto), but is I am mistaken, lefty tools may be for a nasty surprise–they would be first on a chopping block. See:

particularly at 3:00

Just because the people he hires are moderates doesn’t mean he is. Congress won’t be run by moderates either.

The insane left got owned. The plain left did not.

Anyone that voted for Obama?Soetoro? based on his Hopey Changiness ™ got pwned. Suckas! His motto “Yes We Can” can be stretched to cover lot of ground for an opportunistic bottom feeder like him. Thank God. If he’d held to his promises, I’d be even more worried about now. But, the current economic crises have thankfully thrown a monkey wrench in his plans. Another silver lining along with lower gas prices. Here’s hoping that all his big foreign campaign donors are going to be just as disappointed as his radical left base.

So, with all the lying and finagling he’s done, is it so hard to believe that Obama?Soetoro? has been hiding something fishy about his birth and/or citizenship?

Another of Obama?Soetoro?’s crooked Illinois buddies has been arrested — for trying to sell his vacated senate seat to the highest bidder. I wonder what Obama?Soetoro?’s cut on that was gonna be.

Thanks for the link to the liberal blog, Scott. I know that Craig maintains that Obamas appointments have just been a whole lot of Lefties, but, to a huge number of Democrats (true Lefties), Obama’s appointments have been, on the whole, much too conservative.

Prior to the election, the main theme on this blog was that Obama was going to destroy American capitalism and turn the US into a European-style socialist Democracy, with the strong collaboration of Pelosi and Reid. I keep referring to the PBS 2 hour special on the background history of Obama and McCain, which aired the night before the election. This convinced me that Obama is no leftist idealist — he’s a very skilled (and I wouldn’t quarrel with the word “conniving”) politician. But his goal is not fortune, it’s fame, as in everlasting historical fame. And to achieve it, he’ll have to be recognized as one of the best Presidents in history. So that’s what he’s after and he’s willing to throw any and all under the bus, if need be, to get it. But the irony is, that if he does get what he’s after, it’s the country which is the real winner.

Here’s one of the comments from an outraged liberal, from Scott’s link.

Re Hildebrand, I agree that the “shut up and trust me” meme doesn’t work for me anymore. He misses the point on so many levels. First, progressives happen to have been correct about most of the important issues like Iraq, the Constitution, and the economy. Second, this isn’t carping around the edges. Obama has named no progressives to the top tier slots like State, Defense, Justice, or the Treasury. Third, as Jane says, experience at being wrong and/or ineffective is not the kind of experience we need. Fourth, there were progressive choices out there like Stiglitz for Treasury who had experience and have been largely right on the issues. Fifth, I have never understood the logic that when Republicans win they get to govern like Republicans but when Democrats win they are also supposed to govern like Republicans.

These people will continue to grumble, but they ignore how well “governing like Republicans” worked for Bill Clinton, who had a greater than 65% approval rating when he left office, despite being exposed as a womanizer and bald faced sex liar. I’m sure that Obama will control his zipper, and I think he’s a more skilled politician than Clinton, who was the most skilled Democratic politician of my lifetime.

I personally think his national defense team is stellar, and national defense is his greatest weakness. I like his economic team, because they are all very conservative, meaning that they are deficit hawks. It hardly bothers me that they are Clinton re-treads, because the Clinton economic team focused on balancing the budget and that’s precisely the thing which has been most wrong with the economic focus over the last 8 years (total lack of concern about having to borrow vast amounts of money to increase national debt and therefore to impose a lifetime tax on my children).

Anyway, I think it’s wonderful that the Left is screaming and the Right is screaming, too (witness this blog). It means that Obama has found the sweet spot of American politics.

Larry, your Pom Poms are showing. 🙂

i think if obama wants to change the way things are done like he says he does, he would have appointed people with zero political connections and a whole lot of real world experience. he is a moron and so are the very left freaks.

Larry, you certainly are seeing what you want to in obama. He has picked very leftwing people, yet you claim his picks are moderate. The only two definite moderate picks I have heard of are Gates and Gen. James Jones ret. Those picks are just being smart. If he doesn’t plan to keep them his entire first term, they smooth the transition. If he does, it improves the chances of America not being attacked. If we get hit on his watch, he will not be re-elected and he knows it.

(Grist) President-elect Barack Obama has not yet officially announced his choices to fill key environmental posts in his administration, but the word is now out on the street. Transition-team officials say that Lisa Jackson will head the U.S. EPA, Steven Chu will be secretary of energy, Nancy Sutley will head the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and Carol Browner will fill a new post that some are calling “energy czar.” The secretary of interior position is still up in the air. Obama is expected to formally introduce his environmental team next week.
