Then in post 43 of this thread, you follow up your feeling offended post, by citing as source a link to a story via socialist George Soros’ mouthpiece Arianna Huffington’s web-news, which turns out to be just another National Inquirer type rag opinion pieces disguised as news from Huffington’s pool of biased reporters. So which is it? If you keep throwing us garbage like that instead of something substantial and factual based, then what you donate to debate is no better than what we get from the fly-by moonbats.

Thank you BTW, in post 46 for actually providing something factual in support of one of your arguments for a change. Took me a little while to read through all the prepared speeches since I’m also in preparing for the holidays mode, yet I don’t see the failure to mention Afghanistan along with all the other serious issues being discussed as I position of non-support by the RNC for our troops. They may not always say it in words, but in deeds, Republicans seem much more likely to come out and sit down with the troops, take their pulse and actually find out what they are thinking, rather than hanging out with the officers and local officials for photo ops.

In my 21+ years of service in the USAF, I found Repubs politicians much more likely to come out to the flightline and get involved in talking to the people with the sweat on their brow. Or to come out to a hanger and mention their support, discuss issues being pursued, & goals that meant something to us, which would usually be followed by some Q&A. Hell I even got a wake-up following a night shift once by a party going room-to-room checking out our living conditions. When Dems came out, the only way you actually found out they were there was by a write-up in the base newspapers. Or perhaps once in a while you might see a convoy of staff cars cruising by.

Pointing fingers at Democrats isn’t an answer to the oversight. I’m not a Democrat so find someone else to defend that point.

My opinion is that it’s been more than just lipservice that’s been forgotten in Afghanistan.

The fact is no one mentioned Afghanistan. What that means or says about the GOP is an opinion

What I am saying is that the biggest beef about Iraq is the “unilateral” perception. Therefore, the onus of victory or failure falls solely on US shoulders as the leader of that theatre. Remember, most don’t have a problem with the Afghanistan theatre. Thus it’s not addressed much by either party, or the press. And when it is, it’s to blame America for NATO’s failures.

I got some facts that will take you places you don’t want to go.

Here’s a fact for you:

No one delivering speeches at the 2008 GOP Convention acknowledged the war in Afghanistan.

No one thanked the troops or promised victory or even mention the word Afghanistan.

Forgotastan indeed.
