Peace Movement’s True Colors

Posted by: Skye @ 6:59 pm in Rallies  | 1 views

Skye emails from the road that this is what she encountered today in West Chester, PA after years of a weekly confrontation over the war;

Nothing has changed in our military posture towards Iraq or Afghanistan, in fact, Obama even admits now that he’ll have to continue the current administration’s policies. The only thing that has changed from last week is that a Democrat is the president-elect. But the Chester County hippies made it clear that only thing they had against the war was that a Republicans was in office by not even bothering to show up for their weekly protest this Saturday.

Not that it’s a surprise or anything that it’s been about politics all along, just that we now have the evidence of the intellectually shallow Left – how they were willing to prolong the war, tear the country apart and waste more American lives so they could occupy a few more offices in Washington.

Jonn says it all about the sheer hypocrisy of the left, I will leave my dear readers with more images of today’s Victory rally:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

Get ready for 12 million illegals getting citizenship and soon voting. We’ll be like Mexico with one-party rule for the next few decades. That’s my nightmare.

I never understood that logic, and never will. Why does the party of the president even matter, as long as his policies work? Just because a Democrat’s now endorsing those policies, he’s right?!

I agree with you Timothy. Once socialism hits your country, you can never get rid of it. Republicans should have stop that bum before he got elected. Now it is too late. Obama is here to say till the end of time, just like Fidel Castro.

Protesters like that are lightweights. When I worked in Tucson, AZ for “a small company that makes disposable products” (Raytheon Missile Systems), there were irregular protests. A dozen or so would show up for a few hours, once a month or so. That’s all that they could muster. Amazing that they forget the things that we developed that wound up improving their lives, such as microwave ovens, heads-up displays in cars, in car nav systems via GPS, backup warning sensors (radar), etc. We (Raytheon) did not develop them all, but all were offshoots of weapons development.

Leftists running out of things to oppose now, watch as a new weight of accountability and responsibility crushes their old partisan opposition platforms.

That’s okay, Skye… they’ll be back as soon as they realize that Obama will be doing the same as Bush on troop withdrawal, subject to preconditions.

Then, once their victory hangover abates, they’ll figure out that Obama wants to escalate the war in Afghanistan instead of holding NATO allies’ feet to the fire (as McCain wanted to do).

But then… there is the other alternative that Obama could do exactly the opposite and throw the towel in completely…. accepting the offer for a truce from his new jihad fans in Iraq, in exchange for removing all US troop presence out of the Middle East. My guess is that the IVAW, MoveOn.org… and other sundry ilk will be pushing for that one big time.

Mr. Baghdadi also used his address to offer Mr. Obama an unlikely deal, one certain to do little to bring any resolution to the conflict between radical Islamic groups and the United States. He offered a truce of sorts in exchange for the removal of all forces from the region.

“On behalf of my brothers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and Chechnya, I offer you what is better for you and us: you return to your previous era of neutrality, you withdraw your forces, and you return to your homes,” Mr. Baghdadi said. “You do not interfere in the affairs of our countries, directly or indirectly. We in turn will not prevent commerce with you, whether it is in oil or otherwise, but with fairness, not at a loss.”

But that does not mean the same results that Bush would have obtained.

Democrats took over Congress in 2006 and promised accountability. Instead, they racked up the lowest approval ratings in history. Their Presidential candidate was a member of this train wreck of a Congress (bad news – the GOP did the same thing).

My best guess is that the Obama administration (despite public posturing to the contrary in the coming months) will attempt to carry out Bush’s plan. But the Messiah is massively incompetent if nothing else, and He will merely manage to screw up both Iraq and Afghanistan.

One sage put it best – what is the possibility that in a few years both Iraq and Afghanistan will both be allies? Probably neither one. Iraq will see the fumbling amateurs and misfits in the incoming administration and decide that cutting a deal with Iran might be the safest bet. Afghanistan is a bit dicier for the Chosen One (since He promised to focus all of His attentions there), but as soon as His plans start to falter He will do what Clinton did in Somalia – blame the military commanders and the previous administration, and get the hell out of there.

Congratulations, Ms. Know, you now own the intellectual property rights to the use of the term “illuminati” when used to refer to those who are left of center. Just add “socialist,” “elitist,” “left-wing,” or “liberal” and you have an instant catchphrase. Unfortunately, like all cliches, it fools you into thinking you’ve said something interesting, no matter how trite and devoid of content your comment is.

Taxes will be raised, our troops will be left destitute, the rivers will turn to blood, and frogs will rain from the sky. It appears you too claim to be the possessor of special knowledge. Does that make you a member of the “illuminati?”

Dave Hussein Noble: Did you have a point to make or were you only interested in launching another of the vicious personal attacks you claim to despise?

Skye: I’m so glad to see the Sheepdogs out in force after the election. You can tell that their spirit wasn’t dampened in the least even though it appears to be a wet rainy day.

And for the peaceniks, they have unmasked themselves at last. Obama is elected and now peace breaks out all over the world?

Like so many other leftards they are in for a major disappointment.

That’s Dave President-Elect Hussein Noble to you, Mike. At the risk of wasting my keystrokes, let me try to explain the difference between content-driven critiques and mindless insults ( You know, like calling someone a silly name). I did not call Ms. Know an idiot, a moron, delusional, mentally ill, a Rethuglican, a Republitard (look familiar?), or a wingnut. I criticized her repeated use of the term “illuminati.” Over the course of four posts, her use of the term was no more meaningful than if she had called her opponents “smartypants.” Again it’s an instance of facile name-calling.

That’s criticism of the content of her post, not a vicious personal attack.

I also criticized her dire predictions of the coming destruction of the American way of life (a recurring theme on this site). Anybody can do that. It doesn’t take any research or thought.

I don’t doubt that Ms. Know is capable of adding something more to the conversation. She simply hasn’t chosen to do that yet.

Again it’s an instance of facile name-calling.

Would the oft recurring, repetitive and redundant use of the words “racist”, “racism”, and their derivatives, and the associative accusations thereof, fall into that category as well?

Or is that another instance of “it’s good for me but not for thee”?
