Great job Muffler. Sincerely. I think your post also shows that Republicans are already seeking bi-partisanship, no?

That being said, let’s not forget that Emanuel’s nickname is, RAMBO for a reason.

btw, I saw a GREAT pre-election interview w Emanuel on MSNBC Morning Joe just a few weeks ago. He said that when he met w Sen Obama he explained to him that very often a President has to make a choice, and the choice is always (that word “ALWAYS” stuck hard in my mind) between worse and worst. Obama’s never made that kind of decision. I look forward to the time when he does, and when he’s held to account for it.

Again, well done Muffler. I personally respect that kinda response a great deal, and I say that with deep sincerity.

I consider Rahm to be a friend and colleague. He’s tough but fair. Honest, direct, and candid. These qualities will serve President-elect Obama well.

“Rahm understands the challenges facing our nation and will, consistent with the agenda set by President-elect Obama, work to find common ground where it exists. I look forward to working with him in his new position and will continue to do everything I can to help find a pathway forward on the difficult problems facing our nation.”

I’d just like to point out that he’s now made 2 appointments, Chief of Staff and Press Secretary, and they’re both men who are widely known to be extremely partisan and have no reputation as ‘unifiers’. What his means is, he had a chance to set the tone of his cabinet and thus his administration, and he chose to set that tone as one of partisanship, which I don’t think bodes well for the future.

Larry, you’re absolutely right that he’s qualified. My point is that the voice of the admin is the one that American people should be a Republican or a journalist. It would’ve removed partisanship from the tone and language presented to the press and the still-divided nation. Instead-while qualified as many people are-Obama chose a very partisan voice instead of a uniting voice/face.

Muffler, I’m sorry. The part of your post where you listed Pres Obama’s actions of unity must have been cut off. Could you repost that part?

Thanks for the welcome. I made a point that factually Obama had made only one appointment to his staff (at the time as now we have a press secretary too) and that immediately entire conclusions were being drawn. You appear to already have defined the conclusion you want (or expect) and are looking for facts to fit it. There is nothing more to it than that.
