UPDATED!Monday, Sept 15, 2008
Lifelong Senator and VP candidate Joe Biden (D) of Delaware (it’s a state-not a city), kicks off the week as expected. What’s unexpected is that it took until 10:00am to get his first foot-in-mouth out there. Let’s call it the Michael Jackson political theory.
When telling the story of how his granddaughters had a slumber party with Barack Obama’s daughters during the week of the Democratic National Convention, Biden equated it to what he says Americans want.
“I believe that’s a metaphor, a metaphor for what the country is looking for. They’re looking for a sleepover with people they like!”

Way to go Joe! ‘Vote Obama/Biden, ’cause they’re snuggly’
Ladies and gentlemen of the United States of America…I present to you our next Vice President, Joe Biden.
UPDATE
Well, the word from the campaign is that Sen. Biden is preparing BIGTIME for his debate w Governor Sarah Palin-at least 3-4 hours a day in prep time. That might explain why he’s behind his usual gaffe rate. Still, he did give us a good one yesterday

Joe Biden tells small town Americans, Barack Obama is too smart for your neighborhood, and you’re just not used to somebody really smart or well educated.
Nice:
“All this stuff about how different Barack Obama is, they’re not just used to somebody really smart. They’re just not used to somebody who’s really well educated. They just don’t know quite how to handle it. Cause if he’s as smart as Barack is he must not be from my neighborhood.”“All this stuff about how different Barack Obama is, they’re not just used to somebody really smart. They’re just not used to somebody who’s really well educated. They just don’t know quite how to handle it. Cause if he’s as smart as Barack is he must not be from my neighborhood.”
Oh, and the woman introducing Joe Biden calls Sarah Palin, “A bucket of fluff,” Biden laughs and pumps fists at the crowd in support.
