Sarah’s Surge

The foundation for a McCain Palin VICTORY has been laid!

From Real Clear Politics Sept. 9, 2008:

The graph above is an average of the latest polls (see below). It does not include the Zogby Poll for September 5th and 6th which shows McCain with a 3% lead over Obama.

Laying the Foundation for McCain-Palin VICTORY State by State

Prior to the selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate most polls showed a rather flat election with Obama holding a slight lead. We may shortly return to a situation where the race is basically tied, but the selection of Sarah Palin is a game changer on multiple levels benefiting the McCain-Palin campaign.

PhotobucketInformed readers know that the battle to win the White House is won state by state as the two campaigns fight for the Electoral College Votes necessary to reach the magic number of 270. Current predictions (run your cursor over the states in this example) for the Electoral College vary widely and are mostly based on polling information that predates the conventions. Most show Obama with an advantage.

But that’s all beginning to change and it’s good news for McCain-Palin. Rasmussen Reports is conducting a series of surveys in swing states. The first reports are in for: Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia (click each state link for detailed analysis).

The most startling news is the 7 point lead McCain-Palin has over Obama-Biden in Ohio. Along with the tie in Florida and Obama’s mere 2 point lead in Pennsylvania the trends in electoral math don’t look good for Obama.

The driving factor in these results is clear: Sarah Palin! She has been enormously helpful in driving up the positive image of McCain:

Rasmussen Reports:

A number of themes emerge from the data that are consistent across all five states:

· McCain is trusted more than Obama in all five states.

· In all five states, McCain is viewed more favorably than Obama.

· Also, in all five states, Sarah Palin draws higher “Very Favorable” ratings than any other candidate.

· In all states except Colorado, McCain enjoys a bigger margin among Republicans than Obama does among Democrats. In Colorado, they are even.

· Economic issues are the top issue in all five states with national security matters a distant second.

· The number who would not be comfortable with Obama as President is higher in every state than the number saying the same about McCain. This is consistent with national polling data showing that McCain voters are more likely than Obama supporters to be primarily voting against the other candidate.

· Obama has the edge among unaffiliated voters in three states, McCain in two. Nationally, unaffiliated voters are fairly evenly divided.

· Pennsylvania has more undecided voters than any other state—seven percent (7%). Most of these are Democrats or unaffiliated voters.

Who better to address the basic pocketbook issues which impact American families than a mother with small children who not only shoots her own food but shops at Wal-Mart?

It’s still early goings yet but as the Palin effect takes hold in states where Obama ran weakly against Hillary and states where families identify with the authenticity of Sarah Palin’s story, we are likely to see more leakage from the Obama’s poll margins.

As we approach the fall debates, including the one between Palin and Biden, the overall trend is favorable to the McCain-Palin campaign.

On the phone banks yesterday for McCain, I spoke with Democrats voting for McCain, and one said they were switching to Independent because of the direction the Democrat party is going lately. And, had FAVORABLE reactions to Sarah Palin!!

Obama still has a lead in the electorial votes. Obama looks to be ahead by 8 meaning if Mccain can get 5 more elctorial votes he can win. Although some states haven’t been polled in months, it looks like the real battle ground states McCain can win are Colorado, New Hampshire and Michigan.

Still a long way to go. But I saw some polls for the House of Representatives showing 50% Republican, and 45% Dem. Now THAT would be an upset, and we could send Pelosi to the back benches where she belongs.

While I am heartened to see the polls take a turn for McCain, the left has a huge smear campaign going against Ms. Palin.

I am also bothered by the long trends Mr. Obama has in his gains. We need to win this not by a hair, but by a big margin.

I grow tired of stale accusations of stolen elections. I want to see Mr. Obama crushed in November, but sadly, too many people want the government to provide for them. He is already trying to buy votes with his “$1500 energy rebate”, which is nothing more than stealing from the oil companies and handing the money to the people.

Obama gets personal .. don’t let it get ugly.

“You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”

Everybody take a deep breath while Obama destroys himself.

It is absolutely and patently true … POLLS SUCK!

Having said that, just look around; see for yourself the excitement and the new energy the Honorable Governor of Alaska has brought home. Sarah Palin is “The Obama Effect” on STEROIDS! She alone beats the failing Obama with her pinkie. Pun intended.

People, men and women, from every corner of the United States are enthused about John McCain’s selection. It’s historic for Republicans and for some very queer reason it’s poison for a few of the Democrats.

Nevertheless, energy drinks are optional now with Sarah McCain’s honesty, her smile, and feminine drive. She is the joy and thrill conservatives have to keep Barack Obama at bay; awake and sleepless at night.

God Bless America! Let’s begin the SURGE AGAINST OBAMA.

I’m doing some PAO volunteering at our local Veterans for John McCain office in Pensacola. The number of folks who walk in the door, sheepishly asking if we’d let Democrats donate and maybe have a lawn sign is simply astonishing! And I would lay money on “unprecedented”. HALF of them are women, who are so energized by Palin and disgusted by statements like “Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman” that they are galvanized into action.

I wore a t-shirt into the office yesterday (printed with a Palin bumper sticker I designed for the volunteers to sell) and was mobbed.

The excitement is palpable. And I hope it’s sustainable.

Ms. Palin is everything a feminist would want. Or, at least that’s why my male brain thinks.

For example, when you look at Ms. Clinton, I see blind ambition. Arrogance. Condescending attitude.

When I look at Ms. Palin, I see femininity, passion, ambition and reason. She cares for her family and tries to do the right thing.

I see her running for President in four years. Whether she is VP or not.

Tree Hugging Sister: That’s an interesting observation and one that I’ll wager is being repeated all over the country as the phonies in the “news” media and their Democrat allies attack an authentic American like Sarah Palin.

Women, men too, can identify with the Sarah Palin story. There is nothing contrived about her.

Attacking her is like attacking motherhood itself.
