GOP women come to Palin’s defense

ST. PAUL, Minn. — As the culture war surrounding Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin escalates, a group of leading Republican women accused the media Wednesday of sexist “smears” against John McCain’s running mate.

“The Republican Party will not stand by while Gov. Palin is subjected to sexist attacks,” said Carly Fiorina, a McCain aide who formerly headed Hewlett-Packard. “I don’t believe American women are going to stand for it either.”

“We want to call attention to the outrageous smear campaign against Sarah Palin,” said former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift. Pressed after the event to single out specific smears driven by the mainstream media, she said that there “were lots of folks chasing that story” ignited by rumors on liberal blogs about whether Palin had faked her most recent pregnancy. Swift called media inquiries about the rumors “out of bounds.”

The GOP women spoke often and respectfully of Hillary Clinton — a Democrat who has been bitterly opposed over the years by Republican faithful — repeatedly accusing the media of sexist attacks against her and faulting Democrats for failing to defend her.

Renee Amore, the deputy chairman of the Pennsylvania Republican Party, was the most blunt. “The Democrats will let you [in the media] talk about Hillary as you did in a very demeaning way, but . . . we’re not going to allow you to do that,” she said, warning reporters to stop “messing with us.”

WOW….After fouling away a couple of Obama’s low slime balls, Sara Palin picked off Obama’s underhanded mud covered slider and knocked it out of the park with the bases loaded. Obama’s team were left standing in the quagmire of mud they had created.
The MSM immediately blamed Bush and all Republicans for the sorry state in which the Obama team found themselves in, but since they were already dirty, jumped right into the mud to try to rescue the Obama team.

Sarah Palin is frightening the liberal elite along with their puppet media lapdogs that echo every word like it was a Reverend Wright gospel hour.

Rockmom over at HotAir nails the media’s ruthless agenda:

On the list!
Trig is not Palin’s baby - FAIL
Palins hiding Bristol’s pregnancy - FAIL
Palin endorsed Pat Buchanan - FAIL
Palin joined wacko secessionist party - FAIL
McCain campaign did not vet Palin - FAIL
Bristol and Levi forced into shotgun wedding - FAIL
Palin flip-flopped on Bridge to Nowhere - FAIL
Palin cut funding for teenage moms - FAIL
Keep up the good work, MSM!

Tonight Sarah will establish herself as a legitimate VP candidate capable of the leadership the position demands. The mainstream media will not get over this and it will be up to folks like the good people here at Floppin’ Aces to continue to dismantle the lies and fabrications. This is only the beginning. The backlash that the MSM will feel when Palin puts them back on their heels may last only days. I think many will be pleasantly surprised at the strength of character Sarah Palin will show this nation tonight.

Sarah Palin is fabulous. It’s okay to be apprehensive, but I had no worries. Sarah’s the real deal. She’ll knock ‘em dead every time. And, I’ve found the perfect (unofficial) theme song(s) for John McCain & Sarah. It’s Jan & Dean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsHHQGY2_KU Or my fave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX7X4FovYRA&NR=1 How ‘bout them Dems everybody, think they’re done: http://theseedsof9-11.com

That speech was written by one of Bush’s speech writer, Matthew Scully, that has known about Palin for less than a week. Either that writer has developed a quick read on people or her bio reads like a great Republican story and the writer just copied and pasted. Maybe it was a little of both. Either way the writer connected to the right people. More people play hockey and hunt that are community organizers for slum lords. Leadership was mentioned rather than Obama’s pump and dump style.

This just in: One blog linked here says that Palin was forced to ad lib and go from memory after the teleprompter broke and even some people at CNN graded her speech an “A.” Obama could never pull that off.

Palin doesn’t flip flop on the same issue although if the issue morphs into another issue then she isn’t afraid to change her mind. There is a difference between a $120 million bridge and the same bridge morphing into an over $400 million bridge. By the way, the cost of that Bridge to No Where ended up nowhere near the cost of the Bay Bridge retrofit in California. The state spent $5.1 billion on it so far with a cost over run of over $2 billion. Maybe bridges could be Alaska’s next export. They can be built like manufactured homes.

We’re actually talking with the former Republican Massachusetts Governor Jane Swift about these issues, sexism, and motherhood while serving in office on air on The Takeaway on the morning of Sept 8 (Tuesday). She gave birth while in office. If you’ve got a question, you can submit it via our website thetakeaway.org.
