Former Democrat Chief Laughs as Hurricane Prepares to Slam New Orleans

“That just demonstrates God is on our side????”

It’s bad enough when you have hatefilled lefties like this bunch at Facebook claiming “Hurricane Gustav is Sarah Palin’s fault” or the morbidly obese and despicable Michael Moore saying “Gustav is proof that there is a God in Heaven.” We expect that kind of vile behavior from people so soaked in hate that they don’t know anything but that.

But where do they get such ideas? From their leaders of course. Here’s former DNC Chair Don Fowler caught in a conversation on the plane back from the Denver Convention laughing about the possibility of death and destruction from Gustav:

“The hurricane’s going to hit New Orleans about the time they start. The timing is — at least it appears now that it’ll be there Monday. That just demonstrates that God’s on our side. [Laughter] Everything’s cool.”

It’s amazing that these guys could be cheerleading for a natural disaster. But then, haven’t they also been secretly pleased when U.S. troops were killed in Iraq?

They should be ashamed, but I doubt they have the moral capacity necessary for such an emotion.

As unacceptable as this comment is, it seems to me that this comment is no more disrespectful than Rev. Dobson’s call for a big storm to rain out Obama’s acceptance speech. Better be careful what you ask (pray) for. Now what we can all pray for unanimously is, the safety of all of those in the way of Gustav.

“…no more disrespectful…” huh??

Did you just compare a rain soaking with a Cat 3-5 hurricane???

Hmmmm….

First, did Rev. Dobson call for rain or are you a liar?

Second, is Rev. Dobson a former exec of the Dim party?

Third, Meredith, how many people die from a heavy rain? How many homes are destroyed? How many lives disrupted? How many billions of dollars worth of property damage occur from a heavy rain?

You’re being intellectually dishonest.

You know it, and I know it.

No Mataharley I did not. All I was attempting to do was point out how stupid this all is. As if God gives a s**t about any political race.

Rev Dobson actually did call for rain. It’s all disgusting invoking God in any political fight. I found the comments from the Dems completely horrifying and they should be called to the carpet for them. God has no place in politics. This is all about the smallness of man. Sorry if you were offended

Taken from the HUffington Post Aug 28 2008

What does the weather have to do with faith? Nothing–unless you’re a right-wing pseudo-Christian.

Could it be that God has placed a block on the prayer line from James Dobson? A couple of weeks ago, just down the interstate in Colorado Springs, Dr. Dobson’s Focus on the Family organization put out an Internet video asking people to pray for rain.

Although one would think that a leading self-identified Christian might pray for peace, there’s nothing inherently wrong with praying for rain . . . if the prayer is to bring rain to a region in the midst of a drought.

A genuine Christian would do that. It’s not surprising, therefore, that Dr. Dobson’s group chose not to pray for peace (which is of no particular interest to them; they are awaiting the Greater Glory of Christ in Armageddon.

Poor Meredith.

HuffPo?

Really?

Did you even read what was written there?

How does that square with what you have posted here?

Have you seen this supposed video?

Did Rev. Dobson call for rain as you claim?

Obviously you know the truth too that is why you no longer want to comment.

Come on, now, Aye Chi… you know the ol’ saying: “give ‘em enuf rope….” I’d say Meredith has raised her colors for the world to see.

Seeing as how you refuse to let this go, how am I a liar?? I suppose all the video footage of the pray for rain drivel (drizzle) is just too much for you to handle. If the focus on family people hadn’t been inundated with complaints on their website they would not have felt compelled to remove it.. The is still LOTS of footage available. Video tape lives forever. Regardless of whether you want to acknowledge that it was said or not, the truth is out there and it was shameful and sad that God would be invoked in such a self serving way. Oh by the way, it didn’t work… The weather was as beautiful as Obama’s speech
Maybe you can pray for rain on January 20th when Obama takes the oath of office.

Furthermore, anyone who makes statements of this type is demonstrating a remarkable ignorance of the Founding Fathers and the basic history of our country.

You claimed repeatedly that Rev. Dobson called for rain.

Did he?

Where’s the video tape of him saying those words?

Hint: It doesn’t exist, thus you’re a LIAR.

Additionally, you said in post #9:

I’m not commenting anymore on this subject

Yet, you’re back posting again on comments #13 and #15.

That shows you’re a LIAR again.

I couldn’t find Dobson saying that either Meredith.

Perhaps you have your facts wrong or have been misled by the same nutwingers who are now praying for death and destruction from the hurricane just as they did for the death of Dick Cheney.

I also saw another HuffPost where the writer described how the survivors of Katrina in New Orleans had to eat the dead to survive because Bush didn’t care about black people. I guess if you get your information from Huffpo, you’ll believe anything.

If you really wanted to make another of those lame moral equivalence arguements you would have to actually HAVE a valid argument and not just this twisted association to Dobson.

I fully realize you would rather do anything than face up to the ugly truth that the leaders of your party traffic in hate and laugh at human suffering.

But perhaps when you realize that sad truth you will help your party recover it’s lost soul.

Just in. Fowler apologized… sorta.

ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Former DNC Chairman Don Fowler apologized on Sunday for joking in a private conversation that the timing of Hurricane Gustav demonstrates that God is on the side of the Democrats.

“If this offended anybody, I personally apologize,” Fowler told ABC News. “It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don’t believe.”

~~~
“One doesn’t anticipate that one’s private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase,” said Fowler. “But that’s the nature of what we’re dealing with.”
Obviously Meredith isn’t the only one who doesn’t know when to quit….
Gotta “luv” that part of his “apology.” He’s so sorry that a “right-wing nutcase” taped it and put it up[ on youtube.
Which begs the question, why would a right-wing nutcase be on a plane that was carrying the Dem contingent from Denver?
Musta been one of those infamous “Carl Rovian Moles” the leftists are always in fear of.
Meredith, your color is surely Red, but it isn’t White and Blue.
You say you’re a Jew, yet you want to vote for the guy that wants to negotiate with Hamas and Iran? O’Bama won’t lift a finger to help Israel if the balloon goes up, yet this is the guy you’re voting for?
You’re a buffoon.
Democrats: Morally. Bankrupt.
What a shame Meredith didn’t stick around to share with us the video of Dobson suggesting we pray for rain in Denver!
I really was looking forward to that!
But like most of these libs, when you point out to them how very wrong and misled they are, they simply slink away in shame.
Here is the link to the Focus on the Family video of Stuart Shepard (not Dobson himself) calling for “abundant rain,” “torrential rain,” “flood advisory rain,” and “a rain of biblical proportions” before the outdoor speech at the Democratic Convention in Denver.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJY0NuBC7vo
You will notice the very end of the video is labeled “Citizenlink.com” and “FocusAction2008.” If you go to the citizenlink.com website, you will see at the top of the page that it is part of Focus on the Family and Stuart Shepard is the managing editor for Citizenlink.com.
Mata Harley, Fowler’s wafflology is like Michael Moore’s clarification. It don’t wash!
If these morally stunted petty individuals had any decency then in the first place they would have never made these comments, even in private because they would know such comments are wrong. Alas cause triumphs deceny for both losers.
This should comfort Meredith (The supposed Jew): News reports circulating that Slow Joe Biden just told Israel that the O’Bama/Biden administration will not do anything to stop a nuclear Iran and that Israel should get over it.
You go vote for O’Bama Meredith, because he’s definitely got Israel’s best interests in mind.
