GOP Convention Update

Posted by: Skye @ 2:59 pm in Blogging, Sarah Palin  | 1 views

It has been a whirlwind week – watching the DNC Convention and prepping for the RNC convention. I leave for the Convention at 4 am on Sunday and anticipate arriving in MSP around 2:30 pm.

For the GOP convention, I’ve managed to reserve a seat at several lectures and parties during my time in St. Paul.

Sunday: Opening blogger party at Centerfield Bar

Monday: Pew Center on the State’s Electionline.org… – Journalist Forum: Suppose they held an election and everybody came? Fl. Secretary of State Kurt Browning.

Tuesday: GOP Forum: Health Care Forum – moderated by Leslie Stahl – U.S. Healthcare Policy Recommendations for Policy Makers and the Next Administration

Tuesday: Vets For Freedom: Salute to Heroes

Tuesday: Salute to American Veterans

Tuesday: Blogger Brunch – hosted by Google and Redstate – not sure it will match The Big Tent at the DNC.

Wednesday: Blogger Brunch – hosted by Google and Redstate – Guests: Bobby Jindal and Fred Thompson.

Thursday: Republicans for Environmental Protection (wait list)

Not plans for sleep the entire week! I am truly looking forward to sharing this historic Convention with my readers and lurkers.

What are you going to do if they change the date of the convention due to the hurricane.

I don’t think the convention should be postponed. It’s not like the hurricane is going to show up during the convention. It could actually work for the GOP, even if NBC finds some dead cattle or washed up fish to be fixated on. A serious somber Winston Churchhill (leadership and strength) type WWII ralley should be done rather than a pep ralley. Also what better way to add their enviromental plank and show they can lead on day one? Obama and Biden would clearly be put out of the picture in a time that could be a major domestic crises.

And we’re looking forward to hearing from you, Ms. Skye.

New Conservative may be somewhat right. I can’t see them changing the dates of the convention, as this involves multiple bookings of so many sundry support businesses and hotels. But there mey be some speakers (Bush, i.e) missing. Indeed, if Gustav is a Cat 5, much of the discussion may revolve around FEMA and climate change.

It will have an impact. And most assuredly, the GOP convention will not be getting the media attention the DNC had.

… and speaking of that… a couple of DNC blowhards diehards are laughing about that. Will post the unbelievable video of their sick humor.
