While the debate was fast and furious as to whether former President Bill Clinton would speak at the convention, he must truly be feeling the snub as the Obama campaign awards a top speaking slot on the prime night… the coronation… to Al Gore.
One of the most coveted speaking slots of the Democratic National Convention will go to former Vice President Al Gore. He is scheduled to appear on the final night of the convention as Senator Barack Obama prepares to accept his party’s nomination.
Associates of Mr. Gore would not confirm the schedule, referring calls to the Obama campaign. Aides to Mr. Obama said the former vice president’s role at the convention would be announced in the coming days.
~~~Mr. Clinton will speak on Aug. 27, the night that Mr. Obama’s vice-presidential choice will address the delegates, and Mrs. Clinton speaks on Aug. 26, the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage in America. Both of their speeches will take place at the convention’s primary (but smaller) venue — the Pepsi Center.
Oh my… playing second fiddle to his former second fiddle. That’s gotta hurt.
Also scheduled are more extreme progressive like-kind voices… with the latest additions being Jimmy Carter and John Kerry.
The “must miss” night? Monday, featuring a “this is your life” type movie about BHO, culminating in Michelle O as prime time speaker.
The popcorn night? Absolutely Tuesday… Hillary’s night.
