One of the greatest accomplishments of Senator Obama and the past few years has been the bi-partisan effort w Sen Lugar (R) to contain the spread of loose nuclear weapons to rogue states and to terrorist groups that might be used by rogue states as a deniable/stealthy means of attack. Once a terrorist-delivered nuke destroys a city-like Los Angeles, it will happen w/little or no warning, and take months of forensics to determine the possible nation responsible for the matl. However, nukes tend to destroy most evidence, so it could take longer-particularly if the forensic facilities were destroyed.

QUESTION:

If a President DOES know who is responsible via human intelligence reporting, and/or electronic intercepts (as was the case w the 911 attacks), then would President Obama, or President McCain have the resolve to order a massive retaliatory strike capable of deterring the nation the sponsored the attack as well as other nations? Would he be willing to launch bombs knowing there’d be civilian casualties? Would Senator McCain (who has already, personally and repeatedly dropped bombs on civilians back in Vietnam) be capable of giving the order to kill millions of people?

It’s a thought worth considering especially since the purpose of a terrorist delivered nuke is to
1) provide no warning
2) provide no trace to the state that also benefits from the attack and sponsored it
3) impose terror

Imagine the terror in American cities as days and weeks went by without any forensic reporting as to who was responsible for destroying an American city? Would people stay in the cities? Would the economy survive if they left? So many questions. So few visuals. Here is one in almost real time where a state blows up LA, and the US instantly (best case circumstances) knows who is responsible.

War is a bit like having to put down the family dog after it becomes rabid. The act itself is not something that you will take any pride from. The intestinal fortitude to do what is required to protect the family is about the only thing,,, well,,, not so much to be proud of, but to be grateful for.

McCain repeatedly dropped bombs on civilians? That’s the most ignorant statement I’ve read on the internet in 10 years. You are not worth any more words.

I’ve no doubt that Sen McCain aimed at military targets-just as any retaliatory nuclear strike would, but I’ve equally no doubt that-just as any retaliatory nuclear strike would-that every single person killed by Senator McCain’s bombs wasn’t always a soldier.

And how did our military know who was a soldier and who was not? From what I remember even children were grenade throwers and shooters. Liberals should wake up to the fact that war is hell and this hell is not of our making contrary to liberal thinking. We fought in Viet Nam to contain communism which was a noble effort albeit a wasted one. What was it? 50,000 of our soldiers died for no purpose. We had the wherewithall to win but settled for defeat. Too bad the dem liberals failed the country with their cut and run tactics. And to this day they have not changed their tactics and will not admit their error. It is still cut and run. Never mind the milliions who died when we left just as they don’t regard the millions who would die if we left Iraq. And we still do not know who is the enemy in Iraq. This is what happens when the enemy hides amongst the innocent civilians. In cases like these innocent civilians will be killed. I guess the liberals think our soldiers should ask who is a soldier and who is not before firing on them. We have hamstrung our military too much already and put them in danger thoughtlessly. Wars are fought ruthlessly and bleeding hearts should stay the hell out of it. When you go to war you go to win not to be fair to the enemy.
