Iraq may be calmer, but part of the reason the violence is reduced, is because the nation has gone through a period of massive ethnic cleansing. The various groups aren't fighting anymore, because they've either killed their neighbours, or forced them to move (5 million refugees). This would be like claiming the Holocaust was over after all the Jews were dead. You can hardly claim victory for this mess and feel happy. The least you can say is that the wounds you've inflicted has stopped bleeding. So I guess BRAVO retards. Just when did it happen, I seemed to have missed the POTUS's announcement. Also, who signed the articles of surrender and just what are the fruits of victory ? How long will we have to maintain a major troop presence in order to preserve our victory? Anyways, now that we won our war in Iraq, how will the Kurds do ? They are up against the Sunnis, all three main Shia factions and Turkey and I can't help but wonder how the nascent nation of Kurdistan will do when they get to fight their war. Those three main Shia party's are heading towards a "war to settle the score" as well. It's hard to pick between Dawa, SCIRI and the Mehdi army, they all have their charms and warts too. It seems so complicated but "o well". We won our war and that's most of what matters. I guess we can only hope that the good guys or the ones we like win their wars too.
