Woman Reads McCain the Riot Act on Taxes

“Get off my back!”

Responding to McCain’s pledge not to raise taxes a Senior Citizen at the McCain Town Hall meeting in Denver on July 7 declared: “You tax us when we eat. You tax us when we sleep. You tax us every which way… get off my back!” But the most important part of her clarion call was at the beginning where she warned McCain not to make the same old excuse that he was forced to raise taxes.

Right On!

To his credit, McCain has a record of opposing pork barrel spending and has pledged to veto any bills with wasteful spending. Compare that to Obama’s slogan’s promising “change” in whatever position best advances his political fortunes and then ask yourself who has the judgement to lead?

how anyone could vote republican after the last 8 years is INSANE.

More insane than voting for a totally inexperienced former community organizer?

I don’t think so.

The very idea that the American people would rather continue with the same “experience” is ridiculous. I’d rather have someone who sincerely wants to make things better than someone who thinks things are pretty good the way they are.

Carol: If only we could be sure that Obama would make things “better” and not much, MUCH worse.

He certainly has no record that anyone can point to that would suggest he has any capability for “better” leadership or judgement.

Now Mike, picture Obama passing out brochures outside the WH gate much like the ones available to southside Chicago community organizers. Those passing by would immediately think things are going much better, the info in glossy form would be right in their little hands. WaPo, AP, Reuters and all of the Times would be most willing to poll the lucky little buggers and pass the glowing results off as news. It will be a changed atmosphere across this country.

Feel the hope/change thingy yet?

Of course they will be able to pull that scam Missy… For a while anyway.

But in just a few years the underlying damage to our economy and national security will be so apparent it will be impossible to deny.

Not sure if you are old enough to remember the Carter years. All sweetness and light at first. But then, Islamic revolution in Iran, Soviets invade Afghanistan, double digit inflation, gas shortages and everywhere “malaise.”

We’re still paying the price for that experiment in feel good politics.

Carter turned hubby and me into Reagan Democrats, watching Congress in session on CSPAN turned us into Republicans. We were embarassed watching the performance of Gore, Levin, Sasser, Reigle, Sarbane, etc.
