Happy Birthday Mr. President

President Bush celebrates 62nd Birthday enroute to Japan.

While flying to Japan to attend the G-8 Summit of Industrial Nations, President Bush was surprised aboard Air Force One with a coconut cake with a single candle. Quite a change from his 60th birthday which was celebrated in the White House with the most amazing chocolate cake, or his 55th birthday in July, 2001 which he celebrated on July 4th at a Block Party in Philadelphia.

Even though the celebration was quiet, President Bush did get a nice welcome to Japan:

The President had an opportunity for cake a few days earlier on July 1 when he unexpectedly showed up at a 7 year old girl’s party in Little Rock, Arkansas:

From the Arkansas Democrat Gazette:

As Bush barreled down University Avenue to head to Air Force One, it seemed there would be little public mingling.

But someone was having a birthday.

And to the clear discomfort of a suddenly swamped Secret Service detail, the motorcade stopped at University and South Country Club Boulevard.

A crowd swarmed and stretched out its hands. Reporters and photographers scrambled. And Mabry Meadors and her friends shrieked. They’d been celebrating her birthday with a water slide a few houses away.

Bush joined them, but just for a picture.

Meadors’ father, Mark, said in a telephone interview that the revelers had waved to the motorcade on its way in. The stop on the way out was a nice surprise.

“It was a pretty neat deal that a 7-year-old, on her birthday, gets to meet a sitting president,” the 40-year-old insurance agent said. “She was somewhat speechless.” Said Mabry, “He said hello.” Information for this article was contributed by Andy Boyle and Sean Sposito of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Happy Birthday Mr. President!
and Thank You!

Well, at least he can spell “President”, and be one at the same time!
The only enemies we’ve got right now wear turbans and chant “Allahalalalala”. This is often followed by the sounds of large explosives going off, often because we’re doing our job right, sometimes because they want to be martyrs.
Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t vote for this president either time, but he’s got a lot more in his drawers than either of his demoncraptic rivals will ever have.
Hey, answer me this.. Why ain’t the relgion of peace…peaceful? Or is that a misnomer?

You and your opinion offer little in exchange for the space you take up on this planet, Bill. Go gulp a prozac and spare us your useless reveries.

NYCBitches:

Do you think you are really getting across a credible, valid or interesting point by posting that trash on a post congratulating your President on his birthday?

Do you realize how totally small, petty, mean and vicious your comment makes you seem?

Are you just so soaked with hatred for this man that you have allowed your personality to become so warped?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PRESIDENT BUSH!!! :)

How cool was that that Pres. Bush went to that little girl’s birthday party…she’ll fondly remember the rest of her life that she was personally visited by an awesome president!

SoCal: I thought it was a cool story too. Folks in Little Rock have memories of another President making unannounced stops at the homes of young women. But that was usually when their parent’s were not around.

Yes, Mike, and those poor souls are probably still in counseling to this day over those visits.

Looks great for 62.

George’s legacy:

‘The most physically fit President in the history of the nation’.

And the best mountain biker.

As for the rest of it…

[As for the rest of it…]

All I can say to that kind of empty, misinformed and unintelligent statement is that I’m sure there were those kinds of statements with regards to every great leader during their time of service. And, I’m sure, there were those like me who also knew better at the time.

“As for the rest of it” he sure beats the alternative which would have been that ace moonbat Gore. And he tops that poseur Obama every day and any day.

Chris-

Right you are. ‘Great’ leaders have often been criticized during their terms. Sadly that isn’t the case with George. His shortcomings and failures have been obvious since day one.

Mike-

‘Ace moonbat’ Gore would have been an improvement in virtually every way of the cyclist in chief. For one we wouldn’t be stuck in Iraq.

But then that appears be changing. Finally. Sounds like al-Maliki is ready to ‘cut and run’.

And after all we’ve done for those people…

Should have read:

‘Great leaders have often been criticized during their terms only appreciated after their service ended. Sadly that isn’t the case with George. His shortocomings and failures have been obvious since day one.

“Arthur” I bet you still think Reagan had nothing to do with winning the Cold War. Please try and stick to topic here. I’d be happy to discuss Iraq’s political negotiating ploy in a thread dedicated to that, but am not going to permit you to hijack this thread.
