Do “Peace” Protesters Value Their U.S. Citizenship?

Would they be willing to take the same oath as new citizens whose ceremony they disrupted?

This is a follow-on to the piece earlier where we described how “peace” protesters disrupted the swearing in ceremony for naturalized citizens led by President Bush at Thomas Jefferson’s home Monticello on July 4th.

Petitioners take the Oath of Citizenship at Monticello’s 46th Annual Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony Friday, July 4. 2008, in Charlottesville, VA. White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian

On that day, new citizens raised their right hand and repeated the following oath administered by the President of the United States:

Oath of Allegiance

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.”

One wonders whether the “peace” protesters who disrupted this solemn ceremony, a high point in the lives of our new citizens, would join them in taking the same oath?

Something tells me these loons do quite a bit of swearing. But I doubt it’s the kind you would raise your right hand for.

They are the only ones that count, just ask um. Just once I would love to see some one turn and knock their utterly rude asses on the ground. Justifiable and deserved, and long over due.

These idiots have admitted gaining false press credentials from moveon.org. This is a violation of homeland security and secret service procedures. Put these idiots in jail for a long time. Revoke moveon.org’s press rights.

Maybe the government should make a new rule. Nobody with a trace of pink on their person gets admitted no matter what kind of passes they hold..

That same woman being escorted out was the same one who got entirely too close to Condeleesa Rice who was on her way to congress inside the building. She got too close to the president this time. She should go to jail for a while. It might cool her down. I doubt the founding fathers meant by peaceful assembly for these mob protesters to assemble in this fashion. Just another way that the liberals have subverted the Constitution.
