Well I agree with MDenis39 in their answer expansion. I don't know what happens to these pols when they go to DC, they all develop cases of kick the can down the road.

Point 1-correct
Point 2-it's happening now
Point 3-mostly true

With the dems it's all about control and any way they can increase their power over us, they will. Look at Iraq, they stooped to actually betraying our troops and called our general in charge a liar, just to gain power.

I agree with MM. But I will not demogogue only the Democrats because the ENTIRE government bears responsibility for not leading on a comprehensive energy plan for the past 20 years.

However, those that support the Left party don't care about high prices, in fact they prefer it because it will:
1) Be blamed on Repubs & Bushitler
2) Enrage consumers enough to force the gov't to take action to find energy solutions
3) This will spur the Dem-controlled gov't to take full charge of the whole of energy policy, determining who are the winners of the next gen of energy solutions (with no CO2 "pollution"). Instead what we need is a large dose of private-market solutions, seasoned with SOME gov't incentives.

In short - high gas $ = save the planet (for enviros) + More gov't & more Dem control.

A Win-Win for all! (Except working Americans, consumers, capitalism, those who purchase food ...)

Nice video but for someone who is so invested in the evil oil companies and "Bushs buddies", which are millions! of lefties, it doesn't matter. In fact, they even like high energy prices. Don't you remember a few years ago how they publicly called for taxes on gas to get it over $5 gallon?

You know, it gets frustrating because when I've talked with some of my coworkers about gas prices (when they start bitching), they blame it all on Bush/Haliburton/Cheney and the evil oil companies that are making extreme profits .

When I countered with the ban the congress has put on drilling, the excessive EPA and congressional limits restricting new refineries; the cafe-blended gasolines; new low-sulfur diesel; the laughable low percentage of private oil companies; the world market and high demand, all I got was....

no...... it's the oil companies and Bush !!! Change now! We must have change! .. and we should all ride the bus anyway because we're ruining the planet.

No facts. Emotion.

The Democrat's answer to gas prices? Drive less. Of course, this is the dumbest and most ignorant plan ever, because it ignores that planes, buses, semi-trucks, ships, trains, power plants, etc. all use petroleum products. Of course, the democraps don't have a plan for those vehicles. If you want to reduce prices, drilling makes more sense than driving less.

And of course if Obama does get elected in November Dems will all of a sudden discover the “will of the people” and open up drilling just about everywhere. Then, when the price does come down, they’ll take the credit.

...And you're going to be so pissed! Boy, will it be funny!

"The oil companies, the Republicans" to blame?

Yeah... shows how well the Dems big lie has been working on this issue. Say it often enough and the willfully ill-informed will believe it. It's easier than thinking.
