I may be the only one to have not seen these videos, but just in case I’m wrong…check them out:

And two years later after the video became a bit more popular Matt did a followup, with an added cast:

I like how he makes an idiot of himself all over the world, and then has people join him.

Thanks I guess.
Why am I a putz for thinking that it is alright to make a fool out of yourself and enjoy it with people around the world.

It is always good to laugh at yourself every once in a while

I see it as an act of expressing joy, pure and simple happiness, which needs no interpretation as it is so universally understood, and then enjoined by people all over the world.
And the fact that it went so fiercely viral says to me that a hell of a lot of people got that on some level.

I thought Matt Lauer was the Matt who goes around the world…except he doesn’t dance!

WHo supports this guy, by the way? Very joyful, that’s for sure! I’m hoping to be doing that dance on election night. But……….

I think that elephant that was about to take a dump on this guy said it best…..

But yeah… the thought of the elephant doing his business on this guy did give me a smile!

Well, for that second trip it was Stride gum. Its an interesting story which you can check out at his website. Basically he was a game designer stuck in a cubicle for 10 hours a day. At lunch time he would go to his buddies desk and start that silly dance saying time to eat. It became a ritual.

After some years he couldn’t take being stuck in a office so he quit and traveled the world with the money he had saved up. He started doing that dance in front of the camera while in Vietnam and then did it for every place he went. He put it into a video on youtube in 2006 (the first video) and it went viral. Stride gum asked him to do a second one, and they paid for everything…whereever he wanted to go. He had become so popular that people showed up where he was filming to do the silly dance with him, seeing as how it was announced on his website wherethehellismatt.com

I’ve never worked in a office my whole life and can’t imagine doing it. I can see where people like Matt couldn’t take it anymore and decided to get out of it…and having some fun.

It made me smile thats for sure.
