Trying to cut and run from debates with McCain after promising “anywhere, anytime.”

Getting to Know Obama

We are barely at the beginning of the long period in which most Americans will give their first serious scrutiny to the presidential candidates and decide whether Barack Obama or John McCain will get their vote.

Americans have many questions about both men. In the Post-ABC News poll last week, only half of those interviewed said they felt they knew an adequate amount about the candidates’ stands on specific issues. Voters split evenly on who would be the stronger leader, and they showed great uncertainty about which, if either, would be a safe choice for the White House.

That is why a pair of strategy decisions made in the past two weeks could prove troublesome for him. The first was Obama’s turning down McCain’s invitation to join him in a series of town hall meetings where they would appear together and answer questions from real voters — without a formal agenda, press panel or professional interviewers.

Obama’s manager initially called the idea “appealing,” but nine days later, when David Plouffe got around to responding, he countered with something quite different from the 10 informal discussions McCain proposed holding before the late-summer nominating conventions. Plouffe said that in addition to the three traditional debates under official sponsorship later in the fall, there could be only two others — one on economics on July 4 and another on foreign policy in August.

The McCain side said that few Americans would sacrifice their Independence Day holiday to watch a debate and reiterated its offer to meet Obama anywhere he wanted on any of the next 10 Thursdays.

At a news briefing last week, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs characterized that as a “take it or leave it” stance by the Republicans and suggested that discussions were finished.

At the same briefing, Gibbs and campaign counsel Bob Bauer defended Obama’s decision to become the first presidential candidate since the Watergate reforms to decline public financing of his general election campaign.

Gibbs and Bauer in effect blamed McCain, saying repeatedly that he was “gaming the system” by pledging to accept public funds while saying he could not “referee” spending by outside independent groups if it occurred. In fact, McCain had been far more vocal in denouncing such groups on the GOP side than Obama was in criticizing their counterparts playing Democratic presidential politics — even though Obama has claimed the mantle of campaign finance reformer that McCain has long enjoyed.

But it’s also the case that the multiple joint town meetings McCain proposed would be a real service to the public and that suspending the dollar chase for the duration of the campaign, as McCain but not Obama will do, would be a major step toward establishing the credibility of the election process.

By refusing to join McCain in these initiatives in order to protect his own interests, Obama raises an important question: Has he built sufficient trust so that his motives will be accepted by the voters who are only now starting to figure out what makes him tick?

Here’s the “anywhere, anytime” video:

Thinking of David Broder’s question above: Who would vote for a candidate who would cut and run from debates but would go and talk to Iran’s leaders without preconditions? Is John McCain, speaking on his own without a teleprompter a bigger threat to Obama than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

According to a Times/Bloomberg Poll, 49% of registered voters favor Sen. Barack Obama while 37% support Sen. John McCain.

A Times/Bloomberg Poll says that in a two-man contest, 49% of respondents favor Barack Obama, while 37% support John McCain. With Ralph Nader and Bob Barr added to the mix, Obama holds 15-point edge.

This country is beginning to look like it’s ‘No Country for Old’ gop ‘Men.’
(I loved that film, but ‘There Will be Blood’ should have won the Oscar.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcAlN9hJLIM&feature=related

Hussein O makes me dizzy with all the flip flops. It’s like watching 500 cheerleaders doing cartwheels on a football field. Last I read one site had listed 55 major lies he’s told in the past few months and we’re just started. Guess they’re past the 65 MPH speed limit by now.

It’s amazing that Doug can be proud of a candidate who is afraid to debate McCain.

You know why Obama is afraid to debate McCain any where any time? What if someone asks a question that is not on his NOTES? He won’t know what to say.

When they tried to silence Larry Sinclair, they tried to silence all
of us.

First came the personal attacks, attempts at discrediting Larry Sinclair and those following his story.

Next came attacks on Sinclair’s family.

Next came multiple death threats made on Sinclair.

Next came a petition encouraged by Jane Hamsher, an Obama supporter,
with ties to David Axelrod and the Obama Campaign, to block
Larry Sinclair’s news conference.

Next came Larry Sinclair’s arrest after his news conference at
the National Press Club. A DC warrant was fabricated for the arrest.

Next came more lies, smears and discreditation attempts by Jane
Hamsher and others aligned with the Obama Campaign.

From the beginning, the press, the MSM, has failed to do their job.
There is enough information, facts, about Obama, to cause any
intelligent, inquisitive news organization to dig beneath the
surface and discern the truth about the Larry Sinclair Story.

“To be honest with you, its not so much whether you believe me or not, as much as you hear me.”

Larry Sinclair has thus far failed to produce a single viable piece of evidence. Is it any wonder nobody in the mainstream media wants to risk their career and credibility covering this farce?

I’ve been trying to get Mr. Sinclair to response to questions on his blog (simple ones, like “If you think Obama’s phone records would prove you right, why don’t you provide your phone records, they should work just as well, right?” ), but the blog is so heavily moderated that not one single real question can get through, and apparently even his own worshipers are now having a hard time posting due to overaggressive comment deletion.

I know several people who’ve tried to ask questions of Mr. Sinclair, but that is apparently not allowed on his blog, despite the fact that his blog clearly states “You may comment on any post, regardless of your position. However, please note that any and all abusive, threatening and vulgar comments and emails will result in your user name, email address and IP address being posted regardless and without the posters permission. You have been warned.” .

Small wonder, huh? The guy who wants to force Obama to answer his questions will not answer anyone else’s :)

I personally would love it if someone in the media just exposed this guy for the fraud he is. I’d watch that episode for certain, and I’m sure the advertisers would be well pleased by the number of viewers ;)

Sinclair Federal Law Suit To Be Dismissed

In late fall of 2007 Lawrence Sinclair approached campaign officials of the Sen.Barack Obama campaign, and told them a very disturbing story. Rob Allen of the Sen. Obama campaign stated. After the meeting had concluded the campaign officials ruled it off, as “just someone trying to make a buck.”
The following week they received a phone call, from a man claiming to represent Mr. Sinclair, and demanding $100,000.00 as restitution for his client.

Lawrence Sinclair has filed a federal suit against Barack Obama and others for harassment since the gay man released his video on YouTube.com…, a internet web-site for viewing homemade videos, alleging that, the Senator from Illinois and Mr.Sinclair shared oral sex and cocaine in the back of a Mr. Sinclair’s limo in Gurnee, IL in 1999.

The Post has learned that presiding Judge Donald Wilson is dismissing the case, due to credibility on Mr.Sinclair. Stating that the complainant has an extensive record of mischievous conduct. Further more such allegations warrant sound credible standards, which are not found in matters included in this suit.

Lawrence Sinclair was convicted of “fraud” two times and investigated eight times over 25 years, for trying to secure money for “blackmail” charges. Two of the defendants were political figures in Illinois and Indiana. Mr.Sinclair also has an extensive record of drug convictions. The Washington Post has learned.”

I really encourage everyone who has any questions whatsoever, to go to this Sinclair’s website (larrysinclair0926 dot wordpress dot com) and spend a few entertaining minutes trying to find any proof with any merit whatsoever.

Now that might sound like it’s about as much fun as a nailgun to the nutsack, so let me just reassure you that it’s VERY entertaining to read what these cult members say, and I can confidently promise you that you won’t be coming after me asking for that hour of your life back.

After you fail to find anything legitimate, as I’m sure you will if you have any understanding of what constitutes reasonable proof, please please please try to ask for more details or a confirmation on some point (any point), or just try to engage Sinclair in any conversation whatsoever.

And then, you will see with completely clarity, that this guy is nothing more than a nutcase running yet another (though somewhat incomprehensible) scam on those without sufficient mental defenses to screen out such nonsense.

Absolutely fed up with the LIES Obama has said and done since becoming the 44th president. The stimulus package, please it’s a payoff to his supporters that will do nothing to help jump start the economy and bankrupt our children and their children. The Republicans have a chance which they have not taken to move forward strongly. Not sure why they haven’t but 800 billion with about 13% doing anything to create jobs or growth is an insult. And shame on the press for not covering the facts. Lobbyists on his staff, grr, fed up and really mad about everything he’s done and said.
