Excerpts from Eli Lake’s NY Sun article on Sheik Ahmad al-Rishawi today.
“Al Qaeda is an ideology,” Sheik Ahmad said. “We can defeat them inside Iraq and we can defeat them in any country.” The tribal leader arrived in Washington last week. All of his meetings, including an audience with President Bush, have been closed to the public, in part because the Anbari sheiks, while likely to win future electoral contests, are not themselves part of Iraq’s elected government.
Of his meeting with Mr. Bush, Sheik Ahmad said he was impressed. “He is a brave man. He is also a wise man. He is taking care of the country’s future, the United States‘ future. He is also taking care of the Iraqi people, the ordinary people in Iraq. He wants to accomplish success in Iraq.”
When asked if he would send military advisors to Afghanistan to assist US troops, he said… “I have no problem with this; if they ask me, I will do it.”
And that is the stuff that makes up an Arab ally…

Two points:
1. As Mata says, The Sunnis in Anbar have become an ally in the war on terror. That’s one of the conditions in President Bush’s oft-stated description of what VICTORY in Iraq will look like. The fact that the Anbaris would be willing to go to Afghanistan and help replicate their success is stunning and should be highlighted at every opportunity.
2. This story also strengthens the argument many here have made lately that Al Queda is being defeated by Muslims themselves. We are winning the hearts and minds of the Anbaris who were once our most bitter foe.
The right wing conspiracy is a living cultural and social reality that includes not only Americans but is tied to the new term “Global Economy”. America think about it. What we always learn far too late are the people in the world Europe and Asia that have been deeply invested in America in favorable ways for almost a century. These rich are way more ideologically nuts than what we understand in America. Especially the Arab Wahabbi that is rarely talked about on Mainstream Media. Sheesh, if one dwells into the background and mix of this friendship with the Bush family one can see the complicity that America has been played as a sucker to fight a war for the Arabs in Iraq via Bush and Company. The greed and corruption is overwhelmingly ignored for years by Mainstream Media.
Yes, indeed the Republicans are compassionate about using every element of the mass media they can from paper publishing, the entire public domain electromagnetic spectrum, think tank institutions, Heritage funds, thousands of fixed gerrymandered counties and states, Judicial System out of control leading to alien chaos, along with corporations loaded with Republican Secret Trust Fund babies with Swiss bank accounts stashed with your tax money all pirated in classic war profiteering under the blanket of National Security Secrets.
All legions of biased networked families, Bush and company, dug in and intent on continuing to choke America to get what they think is the right thing to do. After one realizes that, you can understand why Americans have a cynical attitude about the education in America, these are highly and likely college graduates from the finest schools all working in society for what they think is the right thing to do when in fact it has been so wrong in a broken system all in denial that the American experiment is not working the way it should.
That’s just skimming the surface, all this great stuff has been known for generations including Americas pitiful foreign policy. Here, American operations played key rolls to over throw governments all over for many decades.
For decades Mainstream Media has been, and now exposed for the horrible place America now is in history. There they are laughing at America having fun all the time on broadcasting telling you all what they want you to know. America if Mainstream Media really reported the way the banking system in America worked we would find it was geared for every one in the world that was rich. Especially the Americas Federal Reserve is realized by many as an operational institution that has been unconstitutional for almost a hundred years.
