It’s a choice between highly educated, experienced, and able scientists and “Jim” the uninformed occasional “sky is falling” commentator here at Flopping Aces.

So, who am I going to believe?

Not difficult to choose wisely here.

Now that the sun is in a calmer period, it’s likely that the cooling trend which NASA’s advanced sensors have detected will continue despite any increase in CO2.

If YOU are wrong, we would have spent trillions of dollars for a fraud. Meanwhile, the real problems of global poverty, hunger and literacy go unanswered for lack of funds.

But you are wrong. Not only is this false, it couldn’t possibly be true given the CO2 record from any of the dozens of sampling stations around the globe. If it were true that individual volcanic eruptions dominated human emissions and were causing the rise in CO2 concentrations, then these CO2 records would be full of spikes — one for each eruption. Instead, such records show a smooth and regular trend.

The fact of the matter is, the sum total of all CO2 out-gassed by active volcanoes amounts to about 1/150th of anthropogenic emissions.

You all need to get over making this a conservative/liberal battle. It’s not. It’s pure survival. If you are wrong, then we are totally screwed and there is not going “oops”.

Yeah, I’ve lived in the liberal wonderland of Portland, Oregon for 41 years. I was 14 when Mt St Helens blew. It was a beautiful May 18th, 1980 day — ironically, this May has been one of the coldest and cloudiest I’ve ever felt — and all you could see to the north was a mass of ash. Almost all the ejecta and ash went north, which spared Portland any real damage. You could feel some serious tremors, though. That was pretty cool.

If any one gets a chance, go up and see the National Monument. It’s amazing what kind of damage such a relatively small eruption can do.

He also thinks actual scientific observations are more important than models. (I.e., HE’S SANE!)

Green Guilt companies are raking in big bucks promising to plant trees and only a fraction of what is collected goes to tree planting.

And then of course, no one bothers to water the trees and many of them die.

Someone should do an expose on these bandits and go observe one of these forests the greenies are supposedly planting. I bet you find a bunch of weeds and very few trees.

And it is not the only one, either!

Nyiragongo, an African volcano, isn’t even erupting yet, which is a good thing for the thousands who live on or near it. But what does the NOVA documentary Volcano Under the City say about it?

NARRATOR: And Nyiragongo is producing more [Sulfur Dioxide (alleged "cause" of "acid rain"] than any place in the world, up to 50,000 tons per day. That’s more than the amount produced by all power plants, factories and cars in the United States.

It’s so incredibly arrogant of humanity to think we could be the cause of such problems, and the height of arrogance to think we could in any way control them. When they can stop a hurricane by blowing against the wind, then I may take them seriously. Till then, fuggetaboutit!
