"John, I totally agree with you here, but may I ask, “WHY?” Why is there so little support for the war?"

I was watching McCain on the Daily Show last night when Jon Stewart asked him how he would "go in a different direction than President Bush."

He stated:

"...spending, climate change and the failed strategy that was employed in the war in Iraq."

You can't cut it any other way, he stated the basic strategy, under bush, prior to the surge most likely, was a 'failed strategy [] in Iraq.'

That's one reason "why there is so little support for the war."

You can see it in the Iraq war polls over the past years. McCain's no fool ...that's why he said it; he wanted to show distance from Bush on the ' failed strategy' of the war.

Does anyone ever question why the war in Iraq remains unpopular? Let's get a little into the "meta-factors" here.
The answer to that is actually quite simple. The MSM's daily dose of pessimism to the American public has had its intended effect. Every day it's how many American casualties have been sustained, how many IED's have gone off, and how many Iraqi civilians have been killed by errant American fire. Even this story of the voice mail has the kind of undertone of how "horrible" it was that the parents had to hear this (wouldn't it be better if we just surrendered in Iraq and their son could come home).
Now, if the media were to be fair and objective, and mention the kind of kill ratios that we have against the insurgents, or perhaps that the American military actually protects Iraqi civilians from the terrorists and Iranian funded "domestic opposition" in Iraq, or maybe even the everyday improvements in the lives of most Iraqis that the American military provides. Heck, we only see that when General Petraeus actually drags the camera crews down to an Iraqi market place to show them around.
So yes, the war in Iraq is unpopular; but only because the MSM has made it so.

I haven't been asked by any pollster what my opinion is.

Neither has anyone that I know.

So, I ask you, who are these pollsters talking to?

Have any of you been asked?

Perhaps they are asking/recording only the opinions that fit the template that they already have in mind. Perhaps they aren't even asking at all.

The MSM is rotten to the core at least and their behavior could arguably be called treasonous.

The public is being led to the trough and fed heartily.

Thankfully, we don't fight wars based on public opinion.

I think that the biggest difference between this war and previous wars is the almost complete lack of public support for it.
