The Ayers Stomp…..On Obama – Update: Wright Hurt Obama – Update: Rosie Agrees With Wright Rants

One word to describe this photo of Bill Ayers, terrorist and Obama friend, stepping on the American flag…….BANG! Your dead! (h/t Marathon Pundit)

ayersflagstomp.jpg

They were pictures taken for a Chicago Magazine article on Ayers as he promoted his book Fugitive Days (no Amazon link provided, a terrorists book needs no publicity). In the article itself comes a few nuggets:

One of the Weatherman leaders was Bernardine Dohrn, a smart, magnetic figure who, in 20080505ayersflag.jpgpart because of her penchant for miniskirts and knee-high boots, was dubbed “La Pasionaria of the Lunatic Left” by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. After a bomb exploded accidentally and killed three of their colleagues, Ayers and Dohrn “hooked up,” in the parlance of the day, and, since 1982, they have been married. This—violence, death, and white-hot rhetoric—is his past and Ayers insists he has no regrets. “I acted appropriately in the context of those times,” he says. But it’s hard to reconcile this quick-witted man with that revolutionary. Today Bill Ayers seems too happy to have ever been so angry.

It goes on to describe his addiction to caffeine. Where does he choose to get his caffeine?

Starbucks.

Can’t make this stuff up.

Certainly there are moments when Ayers has the sound of the sixties down pat, like when he tells me, “Imperialism or globalization—I don’t have to care what it’s called to hate it.” And then there are moments when he sounds light-years away from his radical sensibilities, more like an old grump lamenting today’s uninformed youth: He tells me a story about going into Starbucks and having the young woman behind the counter mistake his photo pin of John Brown for Walt Whitman. “And when I told her, no, it’s John Brown, she said, ‘Who is John Brown?’”

But I am struck by another part of that story. What are you doing in a Starbucks? I ask the man who professes to hate globalization.

“Oh,” he says. “I have an addiction to caffeine.”

Marathon Pundit notes that at the time the photo was taken Obama and Ayers served together on the Woods Foundation board. Which reminds me of another photo that goes along well with these two:

obama-and-the-nat-ant.jpg

Like two peas in a pod aye?

Lets not forget his wonderful wife either:

At a 1969 “War Council” in Flint, Michigan, Dohrn gave her most memorable and notorious speech to her followers. Holding her fingers in what became the Weatherman “fork salute,” she said of the bloody murders recently committed by the Manson Family in which the pregnant actress Sharon Tate and a Folgers Coffee heiress and several other inhabitants of a Benedict Canyon mansion were brutally stabbed to death: “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!” The “War Council” ended with a formal declaration of war against “AmeriKKKa,” always spelled with three K’s to signify the United States’ allegedly ineradicable white racism.

Lots of reaction on the right side of the blogosphere, none from the left of course:

UPDATE

And his shine has officially dulled:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama’s standing has been significantly damaged by the controversy over his former pastor, according to USA Today/Gallup poll published on Monday.

The poll showed Hillary Clinton leading Obama 51 percent to 44 percent nationally among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independent voters, in contrast to a CBS News/New York Times survey released on Sunday that had Obama leading Clinton by 12 points.

UPDATE

Newsbusters has the video:

Rosie O’Donnell appeared on the May 5 “Today” show in its fourth hour, claiming that many have confused her “passion for rage” much in the same way as they’ve misunderstood Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Indeed, claimed the former “The View” co-host, Obama’s former pastor “made sense to me.”

Of course this shouldn’t shock anyone, Rosie is a ding and always has been. Ayers, Dohrn, Wright, and Rosie…..all backing Obama.

Quite telling.

Due to the fact that Barack Obama has already distanced himself from Obama and Mr. Ayers has apparently done the same, why is this matter even an issue anymore?

hello billy!! it shows a lack of judgement, a lack of moral compass, a lack of credibility, i guess i could go on. i have to wonder if all libs are so simple minded that they believe all of the flip flopping obama has done on his relationships with these people. all of the libs are so easily guided in their beliefs, they never question the messiah (obama), just follow silently, never speak poorly of the messiah, never stop towing the party line. get real.

It has to do with the fact that these are the people Obamassiah associates himself with. These are not just casual aquaintances, these are the people he and his ilk hang around with in Chicago. And it shows bad judgement. He is running for the Presidnecy of the Unted States of America, not the United State of Chicago. Anyone that runs for national office and comes form the Chicago area will never get my vote. Chicago is the most corrupt government in the country and is run by criminals in both parties.

This along with the racist Preacher he went to should tell eveyone he has not got the judgement to run forthe Presidency of the United States.

Should have looked at the links first. Funny

You know Billy, I almost fell for it.

I saw that part about Obama distancing himself from Obama and thought…. that’s gotta be a typo.

Then, as I began my response to you, something said to me…. you better look at those links first.

I’m glad I did.

That was rather funny.

Many times I think that Sky55110’s posts are created as an attempt at humor as well. Then I realize that he really believes the stuff he types on here.

Can we question his patriotism, now?
The Obamessiah used to work for this dipwad.
Oh well, I suppose it’s just a distraction.

Let the Chaos continue!

PHILOSOPHICAL QUESTION – (purely rhetorical)

If an air conditioner falls from a third or fourth story alley window and lands on a flag stomping terrorist, does it make a sound?

Yonason: Yes, you’ll hear the sound of cheering and clapping from real Americans!

Ayers is slime and the fact that Obama associated with him, as he did with Wright reveals a pattern.

The photo Curt posted of Obama at the Iowa steak fry from last fall indicates that what Ayers and Wright believe is what Obama believes as well.

Now see, I expect some BHO true believer to show up and drag out the old “it’s unfair to hit him with guilt by association.” Now, if he had ties to just one radical nut-job, he might be able to get away with “well so-and-so is just a friend,” or whatever.
But, BHO has decades long relationships with an entire pack of marxist-racist radicals. If BHO really didn’t buy into their hateful ideologies, then why does he have such a consistent history of hanging out with the likes of Jeremiah Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, or Rezko?
The entire line about BHO trying to “redefine patriotism,” is simply such a transparent and hardly coherent ploy that it’s laughable. Because our enemies abroad (and their sympathizers on our shores) fear and revile our flag he refuses to wear it? How does that make sense!?
But, strangely enough, he always manages to have one behind him on the campaign trail…

Okay, I’m once again baffled by pundits who pull headlines out of thin air. And in this case, it’s that the poll reflected a damaged Obama at the hands of Wright.

Since I’m not much on trusting anything to the calibre of journalists we have today – most especially interpretations of polls – I wandered over to see the the questions and numbers myself.

I’m not sure what they are basing that headline on. Frankly, the guy looks consistent, and hasn’t lost much momentum at all. i.e.:

Next, we’d like to get your overall opinion of some people in the news. As I read each name, please say if you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of these people – snip

Barack Obama:
2008 May 1-3: 58 favorable, 37 unfavorable

2008 Apr 18-20: 60 favorable, 34 unfavorable

2008 Mar 14-16: 62 favorable, 33 unfavorable

2008 Feb 21-24: 61 favorable, 32 unfavorable

2008 Feb 8-10: 58 favorable, 34 unfavorable

He’s not moved much in approval ratings, and finds himself today where he was in February. A 4 pt spread at max.

Here’s more:

Just your best guess, do you think in general Barack Obama strongly agrees, agrees, disagrees, (or) strongly disagrees with the more controversial comments Jeremiah Wright has made?

5 strongly agrees
21 agrees
42 disagrees
25 strongly disagrees
7 no opinion

Regardless of whether you think Obama agrees with Jeremiah Wright’s statements, how do you think Obama has handled the controversy

21 very well
43 well
27 poorly
7 very poorly
2 no opinion

Let’s see… 67% believe Obama disagrees or strongly disagrees with Wright. And 64% feel he handled the situation very well or well. More questions there, and more similar “ho hum” kind of answers.

So my question is… this shows Obama was damaged by Wright how???

Quite the contrary, IMHO. Looks to me like this little stage play is a SRO hit on the Beltway – a big “Mission Accomplished” for His Messiahship. Came thru relatively unscathed, and now wanders sans Wright as the monkey on his back.

BTW, does anyone notice that Wright has dove back under the covers and out of the media spotlight? He did a hit and run in one weekend, then lays low while Obama disentangles himself. Were he out to get Obama, would he not be out there every chance he gets?

MataHarley,

I also suspected what you are so clearly showing, but it’s nice to see the numbers that confirm my suspicions. Nice analysis.

“The entire line about BHO trying to “redefine patriotism,” is simply such a transparent and hardly coherent ploy that it’s laughable.” — Machiavelli

The only way to”define” something like Patriotism is by example, not by words, which can only inspire feelings that already exist in the heart.

And, since the only way to “define” patriotism is by example, he’s well on his way to at least defining what he means by it. Not only that, but we can also see how he is redefining a lot of other qualities we thought we understood, until he clarified the issue for us, for example …

“indifference is caring”
“inexperience is wisdom”
“stinginess is generosity”
“lies are truth”
“waffling is commitment”
“division is unity”
“materialism is spirituality”
. . . and, of course . . .
“hate for one’s country is love of it”
