A Hero Retires

Posted by: Curt @ 10:28 am in Military  | 3 views

Now THIS is a Marine!

cigar.jpg

He is Colonel Eddie Ray. A man well respected in the Marine Corps and by Richard Lowry, author of Marines in the Garden of Eden: The Battle for An Nasiriyah and Gulf War Chronicles: A Military History of the First War With Iraq, who wrote a piece today honoring the man as he retires from the Marine Corps.

It was inspiring to hear one of the Corps greatest modern-day warfighters. Not once did he speak of himself. He spent several minutes talking about those assembled. He did, however, leave us with a gem of leadership. He told us that he learned early that the key to success was to do your job well and to encourage all around you to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

Colonel Eddie Ray is a true American hero. He was awarded the Navy Cross for valor in Operation Desert Storm and, as a Lieutenant Colonel, led the charge to Baghdad in 2003. It is not often that you will find a fierce warfighter, leader and nurturer in a single package. He is the embodiment of the modern-day Marine Corps. Today, there is a tremendous void in the Corps. Eddie Ray’s spot will not be filled easily. But, the legend of Eddie Ray will live on. His ethos will be carried by those who knew and served with him.

Go check out the whole piece.

Semper Fi Marine!

Wonder if he would be interested in joining my merry group one Saturday in West Chester. It would be a fabulous learining opportunity for the peace protesters – who haven’t a clue as to what a hero is…

The Statue of Liberty stills stands: Men made her and the statue is a perfect example of Men behind Women!!!

HILLARY IS A GODDESS OF FREEDOM LIKE THE STATUE OF LIBERTY~

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IS A WOMAN NOT A MAN! Why is freedom symbolized by a woman?

IMAGINE THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IN THE LIKENESS OF HILLARY and THE WORLD WILL WITNESS the TRUE POWER OF FREEDOM IN ACTION

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IS HILLARY IN ACTION~

Woman are peacemakers, protectors, caretakers and givers of life, hope and truth.

Would the statue of liberty have the same power to inspire and liberate if IT WAS A SYMBOL OF A MAN?

If the statue was a man would it hold the torch of freedom?

Men are violent by nature. They love to play war games. Men love to fight, mame and kill. Their first natural reaction to conflict is to fight.

Think about it? Would there be WARS if the world was made up of women? Would there be Wars if the world was runned by women?

Men love symbols that represent war: war games, guns, knives. blood. They give movie titles names like “THERE WILL BE BLOOD”. Men create the wars and women and chidren suffer and die. Unfortunately men die too. Men destroy themselves.

IF YOU A LOOKING FOR REAL CHANGE HIRE A WOMAN FOR THE NEXT AMERICAN PRESIDENT. HILLARY IS A WOMAN! PEACE WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH A MAN IN CHARGE – THERE WILL ONLY BE MORE OF THE SAME.

America grasp this Golden opportunity “To wittness and experience the Statue of Liberty in Action”

I always thought Golda Meir and Margaret Thatcher had a lot of balls. Calamity Jane wasn’t bad either.

While opposing vioence is commendable, most of your NO WAR!! protesters have no clue what a peacenik in our highest office would provoke, thus diatribes akin to angelspeaks … a woman, man, or something in-between in command of our country that bellows peace at any cost will be crushed by violent, freedom-hating thugs at first opportunity. Gender, color, political affiliation aside, this is what scares me most about Obama.

Enjoy your retirement, col.! You have more than earned it!
EVERY retired marine I know is a peaceful, compassionate human being. This is no coincidence.
