What is it with Germans and Polar Bear cubs?

Welcome Wilbaer!

First there was Knut ( cute Knut polar bear photos here) at the Berlin Zoo.

A few weeks ago Flocke made her debut in Nuremberg (slideshow of Flocke photos here).

Now, it’s Wilbaer, a boy who unlike his other famous rivals was not abandoned by his mother. A happy Corinna and baby Wilbaer pose together in the photo at the right.

The Whilhelma Zoo has started its own web page for Wilbaer if you speak German and want to know more, or just look at the the photos.

How long will it be before zoos in other countries get into the act or is this strictly a German thing?

One more photo….
