Doc, first off your link doesn’t work. Second, if you want to discuss a different thread, discuss it on that thread. Lastly, wth is the point you’re trying to make? Is it that Obama didn’t use other people’s lines and present them as his own? That’s what this thread is about.

Why not address the fact that the example I cited from this thread should be taken out of the list of examples, since it weakens the overall argument?

How does pointing to comments made on other threads (without even links) contribute to this discussion? Answer: it doesn’t.

Face it man, Barack (who gets my vote on March 4 btw) is using other people’s lines as his own. Why defend the undefensible? Clearly if Hillary thinks so…I’m not talking from Mars.

Whoa, there, Wilbur. Again you guys get it all wrong.

The whole point of my previous post was that you guys need to bring your A game. A lefty can come to this site with his “still half-asleep after a weeklong hangover” game and knock your balls out of the park.

Look at this post. Good example, good example, good example of what you’re talking about followed by a tremendously lame example–which you guys proceed to fall all over yourselves to defend, just as if it were as solid as the rest.

In another thread, there’s some lameoid arguing that Bush’s National Guard experience prepared him for being commander-in-chief, and that being 41’s son prepared him for national security issues.

Listen: I’m not the one posing as the Gunslinger of Truth, Justice and the American Way. One would think that a gunslinger would be on target a little more often. Maybe I just don’t understand how that whole gunfighting thing worked.

These aren’t even close to the same thing. Are you saying that the phrase “politics of the past” was plagiarized? A Google search for that phrase (with “Obama” subtracted from the results) yields 385,000 results.

I don’t know if it’s that big of a deal. I remember when Biden did it 20 years ago in the 1988 campaign where he lifted nearly the entire speech of British Labor leader Neil Kinnock. THAT was a big deal. But it came before the era of Clinton where the meaning of the word “is” can be redefined at will and most Democrats drank that kool aid (even though some are now prefering the new Obama flavor).

It might be a somewhat larger factor in the general race between Obama and McCain. But something tells me we would need more than accusations of plaugerizing to overcome Obamamania.
