I find it amusing that “Deficits don’t matter” Conservatives are suddenly in a tizzy about putting our children in poverty over the “burden” of trying to ameliorate Global Warming (a burden that will be apid either way: Preventing or Dealing with).

Exactly what do they think paying back the $ trillions that the government has borrowed during the Bush years is going to do? But then, that was for tax cuts that Conservatives could enjoy now, which their own children are going to have to pay back later.

But, of course, that is DIFFERENT, isn’t it?

Steve: Your comment is off topic and a distraction from the issue. If you cannot stay on topic, I am under no obligation to permit you to continue to spam these comment threads with your vomitous bile.

No further warning will be issued.

Just how does Prez Clinton figure this?

Slowing down our economy!

Oh you mean like not sending out trucks as often to deliver precious goods to stores se we can buy what we need everyday, cut back on Trains, Planes, and Automobiles? Not selling goods to other Countries thus eliminating that revenue. Oh it will make a dent in the economy alright.

So let me get this right, we wont be eating, driving to work and back, and will soon begin to smell.

That’s a great idea Clinton!

God I’m happy as hell that you are out of office.

I think I’m gonna be sick because of this but the quote is actually taken from a much longer statement that is 180 degrees from the meaning implied here. I’ll try and track it down and post here if nobody beats me to it. When I read the whole statement I was pretty amazed that somewhere in that blackened cesspit of soul of his, he actually is capable of recognizing the truth.

TB: The entire video is viewable on the link from ABC. No attempt to hide it here.

If you want to waffle on the context be my guest.

But there is simply no denying that Clinton said that it would be necessary to slow our economy.

And that fits in completely with what we have heard from multiple sources pushing globabl baloney.

Slow the economy! that’s just buzz word for raising taxes. Him and her know all about slowing economies. Bush’s tax cuts (witch John McCain was opposed to) saved the economy from being destroyed, let alone slowed.

OK

$100 per barrel oil will also slow down our economy, and impoverish our children as they enrich Muslim fanatics in Saudi Arabia. Weaning America from its “Addiction to Oil” (President Bush’s own words) will, in addition to taking money away from the family now funding fundamentalist Schools, enrich our country as we send fewed $’s out of the country.

But I thought you said it did not matter where the oil came from Steve? We could enrich our nation within a few short years by drilling our own vast reserves and building better refineries. THEN we could properly mature the technology and infrastructure needed for a non-gasoline economy.

Unless you have some magic wand to make alternative energy work on a mass scale now.

Steve,

I normally do not comment simply because I work a lot. But I have been reading your stupidity for a while now and I have some questions for you. What do you think you are accomplishing? You are convincing nobody of nothing save your ignorance. Your comments and avoidance of any real debate with the other posters just make you look like an idiot. If you were just stupid and had some integrity you would not avoid the hard questions others pose for you.

I would have at least a bit of respect for you if you would actually debate people and answer the hard questions. But all I see is a coward that takes easy shots and then hides in a hole. You are the very definition of a “useful idiot.”

Chris: You’ll notice that Steve has slipped into automoonbat mode. He can no longer deal with the stream of rationality directed at him. All he can do is regurgitate those shopworn shibboleths of socialism that the red masses find so comforting in the absence of fact and objective reality.

Again, notice that in a previous thread ole Steve offered not even one example of Gulf Coast beaches soiled by oil from platforms in the Gulf of Mexico destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Stevie knows, as you and I do, that we can drill our way out of this problem in no time.

The objective of environmentalists has never been to preserve a pristine planet as much as it has been to control the sources of energy available to the West and principally to the United States.

Which brings us back to the topic of this post.

Mike,

Which could bring me to another point. Have you ever seen the depth of lunatic groups who get Combined Federal Campaign donation money? Groups like the “Zero Population Growth Fund”, and several environmentalist/human population reduction groups just to name a few.

Yeah, and Steve could do us all a favor and sign up for:

Conservatives use that line all the time, “Do it my way first, THEN we will, of course, do it the right way.”

Of course, Conservatives have no intention of EVER getting to the “THEN” part of the plan. Everything is stalling to continue the status quo. Conservatives spent twenty years, from the 80’s on, saying “we need more study, THEN we’ll do something about global warming”. Of course it was all a delaying tactic. As is the “drill first, switch later” line we see here.

We’ve been fooled too long by promises of Conservatives. It is time to take action, and not allow Conservative to buy another twenty years with empty promises.

Here is our own Quisling spouting stupidity, how do so many become so stupid and cowardly. They won’t fight for our Country, and won’t allow us to do the fighting. Don’t want Foreign oil, and won’t allow us to drill for our own. China in partnership with Cuba can drill in the gulf, but by G-d we can’t. Atomic energy is being used around the world Safely, But we can’t. WAKE up America they are destroying us from the inside, and we seem to not want to fight because were too busy working and earning a living, watching Football to care. We will be done as a country soon if direction is not changed, and we are the only ones that can save us.

There are so many logical fallacies, spin, flat out fanatical hate, and lies (as usual for Steve) in this that I do not know where to begin.

Yep, us *evil conservatives* want to destroy the planet!!! Just like Captain Planet told you years ago… What a crock of sewage. Guess what, the Dems have had control of Congress for DECADES and DID NOTHING. Why not go to DU and bash them (oh, yeah, they would ban you)? Last time I checked NO ONE on the conservative side stated they never wanted to get away from petroleum, but there is nothing currently that will replace it on a mass scale, with infrastructure in place. We refine the technology and make it profitable and it will grow. But according to your insanity, conservatives never embrace new technology and change. Sorry, reality is not on your side, as usual.

Furthermore, you keep pushing the increasinly discredited myth of Man Made Global Warming (which is almost a religion now). Sorry again, the measurment stations were proven to have contaminated date, core samples taken from ice formed long ago show we are in a cyclic warming phase (which may soon end when the Sun changes output), and is rife with political “science”. The “man made global warming” fanatics are the exact same ones who predicted a “New Ice Age” in the 1970s and were wrong, just as they have been wrong repeatedly. I am not willing to base the economic and societal future on bad science and a populist bumpersticker slogal of “man made global warming”.

Your hatred of conservatives and blind devotion to your leftist masters blinds you to the fact that conservatives, while fully wanting our generation to use resources to excell, also are doing EVERYTHING we can to create ways to CONSERVE what we have for furure generations. I could ask what the left cares for the future generations as they abort enough of them or want to use them for parts, but that would offend your delicate insanity and lead to an abortion “debate” (i.e., you keep spouting you hate and displaying that you are one step short of turning that hate into a murderous rage).

I work in the Army with the National Automotive Center, which received a Hell of a lot more funding from the *Evil* President Bush than your hero, Clinton. This research is for both alternative energy and improvements in current technologies. Personally, my home is being rebuilt, as fast as I can pay for it (without taking additional loans), to ensure it is as efficient as possible.

So how many more of your lies can I disprove today? Not that it will stop you from continuing your “two minutes hate” rants against us “goldberg” conservatives.

Of course my post was “vomitious spam”. It included proof of my assertion, which is absolutely forbidden in Conservative circles.

Go ahead and ban me as much as you want. It just reinforces the standard of Conservative behavior that only “Party Approved” facts and opinions are allowed, ever.

Steve,

You are projecting again, as usual. Please seek mental help.

It was mentioned that you would have been banned long ago by your leftist allies on their websites. Yet, as long as you did not spam post you were allowed to spew your vitriol and leftist lies. The moderator warned you REPEATEDLY about spam. Now you are playing the “poor victim” angle and no one who has seen your fanatical hatred will buy it.

Considering how much we are discussing candidates and weighing them against the socialists your party is putting forth, I think we have disproved your lies again. Not that it is difficult to disprove them.

What Bill Clinton actually said:

http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/8637.html

“Everybody knows that global warming is real,” Mr. Clinton said, giving a shout-out to Al Gore’s Nobel Peace Prize, “but we cannot solve it alone.”

“And maybe America, and Europe, and Japan, and Canada — the rich counties — would say, ‘OK, we just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions ’cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.’ We could do that.

“But if we did that, you know as well as I do, China and India and Indonesia and Vietnam and Mexico and Brazil and the Ukraine, and all the other countries will never agree to stay poor to save the planet for our grandchildren. The only way we can do this is if we get back in the world’s fight against global warming and prove it is good economics that we will create more jobs to build a sustainable economy that saves the planet for our children and grandchildren. It is the only way it will work.

Hmmm….Did I include this in the post????

Save the planet so our grandchildren can live in poverty? Is that the deal? Clinton went on to talk about how other countries would have to join us in this effort, but do we really believe that nation’s like China, Brazil and Mexico will all of a sudden begin start living up to the international agreements they sign?

You either can’t or won’t read Stevie!

The journalist who printed this quote has admitted it was out of context. Even the National Review and Cato Institute have said this quote is not accurate. If you look down in the very column where this came from, the quote is actually as follows:

“And guess what? The only places in the world today in rich countries where you have rising wages and declining inequality are places that have generated more jobs than rich countries because they made a commitment we didn’t. They got serious about a clean, efficient, green, independent energy future… If you want that in America, if you want the millions of jobs that will come from it, if you would like to see a new energy trust fund to finance solar energy and wind energy and biomass and responsible bio-fuels and electric hybrid plug-in vehicles that will soon get 100 miles a gallon, if you want every facility in this country to be made maximally energy efficient that will create millions and millions and millions of jobs, vote for her. She’ll give it to you. She’s got the right energy plan.”

We know what Clinton said. And the entire comment is linked in the post.

But it would be nice if you dropped the links from Clinton/Soros groups trying to spin this and actually admit that the goal of global warming alarmists is to slow the growth of the U.S. economy.

That’s in fact is their goal, whether or not you want to admit it.

MediaMatters and thinkprogress… Wow, an “A List” of leftist propaganda sites you have.

Chris: Seems the lefties are a bit sensitive to Clinton’s unfortunate remarks.

Kind of let the cat out of the bag didn’t they?

Yes. It is even funnier when they say these quotes were taken out of context (maybe you should have found a video even longer than the ABC one) I mean it is not like you didn’t link to the entire speach…. oppps you did link to it…

Man, I have been on UH-60s whose rotors spun less than these leftists do trying to defend their idol.

Re: “But it would be nice if you dropped the links from Clinton/Soros groups trying to spin this and actually admit that the goal of global warming alarmists is to slow the growth of the U.S. economy.”

Yes it would. And I apologize for positng from a partisian source as they are usually not reliable. I certainly do not trust links to FoxNews. And thank you for posting better sources that I did in my hurry to get my post in.

Regarding a future of poverty:
Global Warming will exact its cost, one way or another. One of the fictions of Conservative propoganda (particularly the Cato Institute) is that environmental damage and its subsequent effects are “free”. There will be a cost, whether it is the costs of the movement of formerly tropical diseases to norther latitudes, flooding from storm surges, reduced water flow due to lessened snowpack (the Colorado River), or other costs. They are real and they will happen, no matter what you and I put in print: Nature is not impressed.

The only question is where that cost will land.

Add to that the increased wars that will result as countries are flooded due to rising oceal levels (not in the next ten years, as Conservatives falsly assert Al Gore said). For example Bangladesh, one of ht emost populous Muslim nations in the world, will see about half of its area flooded out, and 3/4 of its population displaced. Does anyone here think that a couple hundred million poor Muslims, made further poor and refugees, will not form a fertile recruiting ground for al Qaeda, or whatever successor organization decides to exploit them?

Bill Clinton was just pointing out some of the long term consequences and alternaives. Conservatives, whose idea of “long term” does not appear to extend beyond the next five minutes, have to start examining some reality.

I await the stram of personal insults that inevitably constitute “valid rebuttals” on this site.

One bold faced lie after another.

And they say Republicans use the politics of fear?

At least the fears of Islamic barbarism we describe are REAL whereas the fantasy of global catastrophe from manmade global warming is nothing but a monstrous lie designed to scare people into derailing the only agent for positive change the world has known: free capitalism embodied generally in Western society but principally the United States.

Bill Clinton let the cat out of the bag!
