John Edwards, on Ronald Reagan’s legacy: “When you think about what Ronald Reagan did to the American people, to the middle class, to the working people, he created a tax structure that favored the very wealthiest Americans and caused the middle class and working people to struggle every single day. This president will never use Ronald Reagan as an example for change.”

It reminded me when I was in the White House watching the 1988 Vice Presidential Debate between then Sen. Lloyd Bentsen and Dan Quayle.

Quayle made some reference to JFK and Bentsen famously replied: “I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

Since I was sitting in the offices of the Reagan White House at the time, allow me to paraphrase:

Senator Obama, I worked for Ronald Reagan, and you sir are no Reagan!

P.S. It’s also laughable that the Paulites are trying to wrap the Grim RPr in the Reagan mantle. Do they not recall that their candidate denounced Reagan as a “dramatic failure” and a “traitor?”

Well, we don’t expect the Paulites to have any better sense of history or facts than the Obamites. But PUHLEASE! Don’t any of them, Huckabites too, try and put on the Reagan mantle.
