There is only one Reagan! Thompson is as close as we can come. Vote and vote often people. Thompson/Hunter 08.
Excellent post. People need to be hearing what conservative leaders have to say about him. I doubt Reagan would have approved of the state of education in Arkansas or the misrepresentation by Huckabee.
It is sad how some Republicans are disregarding that Huckabee’s moral stance (which is what I thought to be one of the strongest points of the Republican party) is the strongest of any candidate formerly or currently running. I am sorely disappointed at the hypocrisy of many christian conservative leaders who refused to back him up because of his “economic populist” views. They just didn’t realise that he does have a big heart and is simply voting with his conscience. We who call ourselves Republicans should do the same.
Jl: If you want to be a single issue voter and cast your ballot on what you see as Huckabee’s strong moral stand that is your choice.
But to suggest that we should all “do the same” and be so narrow minded and ignore the remaining conservative issues that are so important to us is not going to fly.
You talk about being “sorely disappointed.” Well I am sorely disappointed that you feel the need to so openly trash principaled conservatives with a wider field of vision than yourself.
