(If you have endorsed Fred and don’t see your blog listed please put it in the comment section and I will update)

Some sites made to further along Fred’s run for President include Fred Thompson 101, Fred Thompson, Falcons for Fred, Fred Thompson and “The Doctrine of Original Intent”, The Marbleead Regiment, and Ohio 4 Fred

Additionally author David Limbaugh had this to say about Fred today:

I find his lack of “fire in the belly” refreshing. He strikes me as one
of the few presidential candidates since Ronald Reagan whose primary
motivation is not personal aggrandizement but rather serving and
leading the nation in very troubled and dangerous times. I see him as
almost being drafted into this project, and his refusal to drool
publicly over the prospect of becoming the most powerful man in the
world is positively delightful.

He implores him to work harder to get his message out which makes no sense to me.  He just put out a 17 minute video to Iowans, he put out the obligatory 30 second ad.  He has been campaigning almost non-stop in Iowa for the last few weeks.  What else do you want him to do?  Suck up to the media to get air time.

Thats not Fred.  Thankfully.

He just put out a 17 minute video to Iowans

Has he been able to get this on the air? I liked the video, especially his comments on and appeal to Democrats, and I see a post over at NRO titled ‘Fred Makes His Move’. Is it playing, though? If it’s only up on Youtube, that would be a tragedy – not that *no one* will see it, but it would really help to get it out on TV. Expensive to buy that much time though, I know…

You know, as far as Fred “getting his message out”, I agree with you, Curt. He has been doing it, he is just not doing it in the obnoxious, look at me way that everyone else is doing it. Mike Huckabee rose to prominence, because he was a jerk. Mitt Romney rose to prominence, because he has money. Rudy rose to prominence, because he has been in the news since 9/11. John McCain rose to prominence, because he is simply a media whore that the media loves, because he is a “maverick” who likes to criticize the Republican Party and President Bush to give himself some publicity. Fred’s message is not getting out the traditional way, because he is not playing the game the others are playing. He is using new technology and trying to appeal to people with, imagine that, his policy positions. The others, on the other hand, are getting publicity for being jackasses most of the time.

But again, as I have said before, Fred suffers, because people, both his supporters and detractors, put such high, unachievable standards on him before he even entered the campaign, that he was set up for failure (based on those standards). But if people would stop being so damned irrational and take a rational look at all the candidates and their policies and what they envision for the nation and how the present their ideas and how they stand up to the mass media and how they react to criticism, etc, Fred Thompson is head and shoulders above anyone else. He only “fails” when people put some “HE HAS TO BE THE NEXT COMING OF THE SAINTLY IMAGE WE ALL HAVE OF RONALD REAGAN!!!” standards upon him.

And this is not just happening from his detractors. I have seen some so-called supporters of his say “yeah, I was a Fred person before he got in the campaign, but he has been so lackluster, that now I am looking at Rudy or Mitt or McCain now”. HUH?!? What in the world has Fred done during this campaign to let anyone down, based on policy or presentation, that would lead someone to want to go from a Conservative to a RINO or liberal Republican???

I just don’t get it. Actually, I believe I do get it, but people will never admit this. I believe that people are jumping around with their “support”, because they want to support the guy who is popular and “electable”. Instead of voting on principle, people are looking at the stupid polls and making their decisions that way.

Go figure, Party supporters who criticize Clinton for governing by polls have now become their worst enemy by making their decision for the nomination based on polls.

It’s sad really.

Thanks, Curt.

bbartlog – I don’t think Fred intends that message to be aired on TV in Iowa. I think he intends for it to go viral on blogs and to get out via people who read blogs. Also, he probably figures if it got enough hype on the web, the mass media might pick up and air parts of it.

Unfortunately, the mass media is not helping him, because they know he is the only true conservative in the campaign and they don’t want him getting the Republican nomination. So they just ignore him and hope his grassroots supporters leave him and go towards another candidate they are pushing, such as Mitt or Rudy or McCain or even Huckabee. The left wants to have a RINO or liberal Republican pitted against a Democrat in the campaign, that way they don’t lose, even if the Republican wins.

They also know that every Republican candidate will be easy to attack for their big weaknesses, except for Fred. I’m sure he has some – other than the typical false attacks of being too old and not wearing hats and not having ‘fire in the belly’ – but they would have to work harder to find them. I believe they also know Fred does great in debates as he knows the Constitution well, understands federalism well, can be charming and even appeals to conservative Democrats (as he did in his 17 minute spot).

But unfortunately, this is typical for politics these days. The mass media pushes their agenda and works to tell people what to think. And it seems to be working. I have seen plenty of wishy-washy conservatives who say they aren’t getting behind Fred, because of so-called electability issues or him not impressing them enough (because they had unrealistic expectations of him that he could never achieve). It would be nice if people would actually support the candidate they say is most aligned with their principles.

I actually admire Ron Paul supporters, because, even though he doesn’t seem like he has a chance of getting the nomination, that is not sinking their enthusiasm. Yeah, a lot of them are ridiculously annoying and go overboard, but at least they are staying loyal to their principles and to their candidate. I cannot say the same for the rest of the Republican base. They seem to jump from candidate to candidate, based on the polls or the latest agenda driven media pushed story of the week.

From my point of view the lack of any over whelming breakout by any top tier candidate doesn’t show that they are equally good candidates that are hard to decide from, but more in line with each having faults that still have people not to commit to them and I in a lot of ways willing to sit and wait till someone else decides who gets the nomination and then will back whoever that person is.

This could play into Fred’s favor if enough say that they will go with him rather than pick something with warts they don’t want to endorse.

If Fred can hang on he will look very much the more conservative steady candidate, but it will all depend on how much people starve him for air for people to give a look at how they feel about his electability.

Without the antics of all the others, he just doesn’t play as well for the MSM that wants blood in the water or just plain stupid stuff to feed the machine.

Hello All, I have a small but informative blog called (Fred Thompson and “The Doctrine of Original Intent”) at (http://federalistfred.blogspot.com/). The blogs theme is based on Fred’s federalist position and how he intends to run the country the way our founding fathers intended it to be run. Needless to say I WHOLE HEARTEDLY ENDOURSE FRED THOMPSON. I also blog at Blogs for Fred, RedState, Michigan Right, and now here (I guess). I also consider myself a member of the Marblehead Regiment at (http://marbleheadregiment.com/). Feel free to come over and help row Fred’s boat RIGHT over the Potomac River and RIGHT into the White House.

As Always Thanks for being involved, and many blessings, Shane

Nice roundup and thanks for including Right Truth. Hubby and I support Fred Thompson, as do the majority of readers at Right Truth. I’m hoping that Fred will be the big surprise coming out of Iowa. The media is mad because he isn’t playint their games. When voters get a chance to voice their opinions at the ballot box the media will be surprised.

I’ve been sold on Fred for some time, now, ever since I began seriously examining the records of the various candidates, comparing their positions with their records, etc.

He’s the only current candidate the Founders could vote for (were they still alive) without holding their noses… or asking for directions to whatever became of the republic they left to us.

Hello! Curt,

My blog is new. Only two posts so far. Do I qualify?

I have been for Fred since June 2007. Sent him $100 when it was still up in the air whether he’d run or not.

Have sent more than a $1000 since which being retired is hard for me. Still, I will send more.

My blog is named:

The South Knoxville Long Bomb

This author and its blog most definately a Fred Thompson supporter.

I tried to get my Blog recorded on the Blogs For Fred Thompson web site but it would not take. Can you help with that?

Take care and God speed, I remain . . .
