Praising Nancy Pelosi

Loading

Almost hard to believe this happened but coming from the father of Eddie Jeffers, I would have to say that indeed, sometimes, the pen IS mightier then the sword:

On this Saturday evening, December 29, 2007, my cell phone rings at about 5:50 pm CST and I hear:

“Is this David Jeffers?”

“Yes it is.”

“This is Nancy Pelosi and I just wanted to call you and let you know
that I got your packet from Congressman Jeff Miller and that I read all
of your son Eddie’s articles. I want to first say how sorry I am for
your loss and I imagine this must have been a tough Christmas for your
family.”

That’s how my conversation with the Speaker of the House began.

David notes that the packet sent to her included the fact:

that Senator Reid, John Murtha, and she were becoming the enemy that Eddie wrote of in “Hope Rides Alone.”

But she still called anyways.  She didn’t argue with him nor try to change his mind.

While I still have little to no respect for this woman, what she did deserves praise.

I wonder if the Speaker perhaps started READING the national intelligence estimates or (dare we pray) actually got an intel briefing or two rather than taking her marching orders from Moveon, ANSWER, and the Code pinkos (who camp out in front of her house in San Fran).

This is a great act, by a woman of great power, resulting in the actions of a remarkable father spreading his late son’s words; words that might just echo through eternity.

I’ve long maintained-since 2002-that Democratic Party leadership actually realizes what’s at stake in Iraq and in the global jihad, but deliberately misled and misleads people for their own political profit. It’s either that, or they’re complete morons (and there’s a good case to be made for that as well). This action on the part of Speaker Pelosi’s is similar to the Democrats’ Congress reluctance to actually end the war in Iraq. Both demonstrate that they KNOW what’s at stake there. They KNOW what they’ve done, and…they’re not pimping the anti-war in Iraq issue like they did a year ago. Nope. Now….now, they’re pledging to continue the war until 2013, they’re acting all patriotic and supportive of the success (often upon returning from visits to Iraq), and we have the Speaker calling the late Sgt Jeffer’s dad. Remarkable. Long overdue, but…better late than never I guess.

Maybe she got the news (not from the dying MSM) that the American people are fed up with the lies (from the socialist/communist/democrat party) and are becoming so hostile the party they will throw won’t be a food taster, unless we reverse the old saying ‘they can kill me but won’t eat me’. Since Osama Obama brought up the mud hut in Africa as a way of life maybe they can be killed and ate, if you hold your nose and use some really hot sauce.
