Osama’s Latest

It’s no wonder Osama bin Laden released this new message of his pleading for the Iraqi’s to stop fighting them:

Iraq’s interior ministry spokesman said
Saturday that 75% of al-Qaeda in Iraq’s terrorist network had been
destroyed this year, but the top American commander in the country said
the terror group remained his chief concern.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Kareem Khalaf said the
disruption of the terrorist network was due to improvements in the
Iraqi security forces — which he said had made strides in weeding out
commanders and officers with ties to militias or who were involved in
criminal activities.

He also credited the rise of anti-al-Qaeda in
Iraq groups, mostly made up of Sunni fighters the Shiite-dominated
government has cautiously begun to embrace. Additionally, an increase
in American troops since June has been credited with pushing many
militants out of Baghdad.

What did Osama say?

Osama bin Laden has released a new message aimed at Iraqis, warning them against joining tribal councils fighting al Qaeda.

The
militant leader accused Washington of plotting to take control of
Iraq’s oil and urged the Iraqi people to reject efforts to rebuild a
US-backed national unity government there.

He also vowed in the
audio recording posted on the web to expand jihad to liberate all
Palestinian land and said his group will never recognise Israel.

“America
seeks, alongside its agents in the region, to create an allied
government… that would accept in advance the presence of major US
bases in Iraq and give the Americans all they wish of Iraq’s oil,” he
said.

The Saudi-born al Qaeda leader said the envisaged Iraqi
government was also meant to help Washington “fully dominate” the
region with help from allies such as Saudi Arabia.

“The
government of Riyadh is still playing its wicked roles,” he said,
describing Saudi Arabia’s King Abduallah as the United States’ “chief
agent”.

Referring to a Saudi push in February to help
Palestinian rivals agree a unity government, which fell apart in June,
he said Riyadh was part of a scheme to lure Islamist Palestinian
militant group Hamas away from its jihadist roots.

“I assure our
kin in Palestine especially that we shall expand our jihad… We will
not recognise a state for the Jews over even an inch of Palestinian
soil,” he said.

Guess its a little stressful when your organization is getting their asses kicked, as evidence of this milestone:

Sometime on December 27, 2007, in a fierce gun battle in Al Kut, a
milestone was reached. 20,000 terrorists have been killed by our troops
in Iraq.

Number 20,000 was a Shia, working for a Special Groups cell supplied by Iran and operating in defiance of Sadr’s orders.

Yes yes…I know this latest one was a Sadr loyalist.  But somewhere in that 20,000 is that 75% bodycount of AQ.

UPDATE

JustADude in the comments posted this he found at another site in response to the video:

The very first sound you hear on the vid is the ventilator
A respiratory therapist should be able to tell you the model from the sound
At about 18:00 on you can hear the faint traces of a ventilator, Biny has a trachea.
which also means a Nebulizer.
At 26:00 on it can be heard clearly, the breath between phrases.
Use your ear buds, on high.
You can hear the mechanical breath as the ventilator re-pressurizes his lungs.
Background noise ventilator compressor, breathing for Biny.
Ventilator means he cannot breathe for himself.

Any respiratory therapists out there?

UPDATE II

I’ve put up the audio only of the video.  Can’t hear the ventilator but I have no experience in that field and maybe my hearing sucks.

Interesting JustADude. Gonna put that up in the post.

I always knew OBL was dark and twisted… i never figured him for a real life Darth Vader!

Sorry for being away so long. Kids are sick.

So let;s do a bit of math here. 20,000 killed in 6 years. that works out to about 10 per day
365x10x6=~21,000
Gee 10 per day do you think that they will be able to replace those loses ?
Where as we have lost only about 2 per day so that makes us the winner I guess. Of course we don’t have any figures on WIA on there side, I think that there medvac isn’t as good as ours there WIA are probably a lot less than our 20,000.

You must lead a very sad life John. Only someone seriously disturbed would root for the defeat of our country as much as you do.

Can’t say I’m shocked tho coming from a lefty.

THIS IS THE BEST THAT OBL CAN DO!!! You sad sack terrorists — it’s over.

Go troops!

“Saudi Arabia’s King Abduallah as the United States’ “chief agent”.”

Does this mean Israel has been downgraded?

What’s all this about the “oil” again?

Doesn’t OBL know that his allies in the U.S. Democrat Party are starting to desert him?

Hope your kids are doing better Chris.

Thanks Curt. GI Probe for New Years with overnight stay at Detroit’s Children’s Hospital. At least I know where I will be when the Ball Drops….

Hopefully this will be the fix needed. I hate seeing the little guy suffer through each test.

John,

And to rain on your parade even more, you can probably double the enemy’s (that’s the terrorists if anyone gets confused) KIA due to the fact most heavy weapons (120mm HEAT rounds, 155mm Artillery, most bombs, etc) do not make counting easy and the US Military is very conservative on counting enemy KIA.

Thus, the terrorists KIA are probably 50,000-75,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan. This does not count the Philippians, Pakistan, Salomi coast, or any other locations where we engage them.

Re: “Thus, the terrorists KIA are probably 50,000-75,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan. This does not count the Philippians, Pakistan, Salomi coast, or any other locations where we engage them.”

The casulty rate is even higher when the
collateral damage” (euphemism for civilians) are included. And that is the problem with getting in the middle of a civil war thatis being fought using guerrilla tactics: You end up killing a lot of those you wish to protect/convert. and thise usually means more recruits for whichever “other” side you were attacking (in Iraq there are at least three).

It is the fact that the United States has become enmeshed inside of a three-way civil war that is the disaster. At this stage, only the most brilliant tactics can get the US “out” of the middle, and “success” will be measures not in terms of achievements, but in terms of reducing how badly America will contiue to be harmed.

Don’t forget, the Bush Administration, thorugh its trusted Secretary of Defense predicted in 2003 that the occupation would last no more than “six months”, with Neoconervative Administration officials and analysts testifying before Congress that “Iraqi oil money” would pay for the occupation.

All that is, of course, forgotten by Conservatives who are now High-Fiving themselves because the level of violence in Iraq is “only” where it was in 2005, as though that was something spectacularly great. Rather than a firm indication of how badly Bush Administration incompetence has bungled a prime opportunity for Nation Building on a grand scale.

No one can now say that Iraq is, or will be in the near future, the “Shining Example of Democracy” that President Bush pronounced it to be.

George Bush’s occupation of Iraq has been a colossal failure, even if Conservatives are not permitted to say so publicly. The only thing left now, as Geiorge W. Bush runs out the clock to January 2009, will be for the next president (whomever he may be) to minimize the amount of grevious harm that befalls the United States as a result of President Bush’s bungling. And future historians (IMO) will count it a “success” if Bush’s successor prevents the United States from going the way of the Soviet Union after its occupation of Afghanistan, rather than in terms of Iraq as a model for the entire Midcdle East.
