Curt,

I would not hold your breath on our resident (but semi-sane) leftist troll answering you.

I could also add lists of my own about corrupt dems who seem above the law.

So lets play a game. You list the Republican lawmakers, former lawmakers, and aides arrested in 2007 and I will continue the Dem side.

Judicial Watch discribes itself as a "conservative, non -partisaneducational foundation"
Of course Democrats are going to outnumber Republicans.
I prefer to keep score on the number of convictions and the Republicans are leading in that as well as in years to be served. An important stat !!

Yup, this list is no way accurate. What about my Congressman Joe Baca? He is for one, misogynistic and I think that takes some of his campaign money to pay off family members too.

Judicial Watch’s Dubious Top 10 Corrupt Politicians of 2007

I find it somewhat dubious that so many Presidential candidates happened to make the list, though. Especially Rudy Giuliani, who hasn’t held an elected position since 2001. Not sure how that makes him more corrupt this year than many, many other ...

My bet is that if you don't like this list, it's because "your guy" is on it

You would lose that bet as far as I'm concerned. I don't like the list because it's a vapid exercise in name-dropping, with no apparent work whatsoever put into identifying the truly corrupt. None of my top three choices (Paul, Thompson, Romney) are on the list.

FOUR Presidential candidates are on the list. I hope people are paying attention! Their list from last year was longer (and if you think some names were left off this list, they were probably on the list from last year). My bet is that if you don't like this list, it's because "your guy" is on it. Get wise and go with someone who will actually govern as a conservative, like Mitt or Fred.

The list is a total fraud.
It represents an attempt at attention-grabbing, by listing prominent people in the news, and making spurious charges against many of them. The real corrupt pols are not mentioned.
JW loses all credibility here.

In the end, any list is no more relevant than the criteria used to compiile it. If find Judicial Watch'e list puzzling. They list Scooter Libby, who while a convicted felon, has no known pattern of corruption.

On the other, JW omitts John Murtha who steers tax payer dollars into his bank accounts.

JW'w iist certainly interesting, but is it relevant?

Obama, Illinois media excluded, has been getting a free ride on his Rezko ties.

Twenty days after Super Tuesday, Tony Rezko goes on trial in Chicago. I would assume he'd still be in the race, so it'll be interesting how the national media will cover the trial. Since an indictment of our current governor, Rod Blagojevich, is practically an inevitibility, and Rezko is on trial mainly because of his influence peddling on behalf of the Dem. governor, local media, and this blogger, will be all over this story.

The list is hugely biased towards figures currently in the news. Obviously Jefferson is more corrupt than Obama, and Craig isn't corrupt at all in the usual sense of the word. And Giuliani, much as I dislike him, isn't corrupt either (at least on the basis of what they have here... corrupt *friends*, sure...).
And I can't believe you didn't mention Clinton, but maybe you figured everyone already knew she was on the list.
