Huckster Coming Back To Earth?

Loading

Everytime I’ve thought Huckabee was falling to earth because people have finally realized he is a liberal with a few conservative views I’ve been disappointed.  He stayed afloat.

Will he stay afloat after today?  First Bryan reminds us of the recent incident where Huckabee said Frank Gaffney was joining his team as a foreign policy advisor:

Woopsies.

Now he does it again with Bolton:

At a Thursday evening press conference, Huckabee said, “I’ve
corresponded with John Bolton, who’s agreed to work with us on
developing foreign policy.”

Bolton, however, has a different view. “I’d be happy to speak with
Huckabee, but I haven’t spoken with him yet,” said Bolton, now a senior
fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank
in Washington.

“I’m not an official or unofficial adviser to anyone,” said Bolton, who
mentioned he’d had conversations with other Republican candidates but
refused to name any names.

And lastly:

More:

On Thursday night he told reporters in Orlando, Fla.:
“We ought to have an immediate, very clear monitoring of our borders
and particularly to make sure if there’s any unusual activity of
Pakistanis coming into the country.”

On Friday, in Pella, Iowa, he expanded on those remarks.

“When I say single them out I am making the observation that we have
more Pakistani illegals coming across our border than all other
nationalities except those immediately south of the border,” he told
reporters in Pella. “And in light of what is happening in Pakistan it
ought to give us pause as to why are so many illegals coming across
these borders.”

In fact, far more illegal immigrants come from the Philippines,
Korea, China and Vietnam, according to recent estimates from the
Department of Homeland Security.

This comes on the heels of his “apology” who everyone and their mother attempted to explain away as just a slip.  He really meant to offer his condolences.

Whatever.

If nothing else the MSM spotlight being shown on the man proves that maybe even THEY realize that the man cannot win the primary.  I know they were hoping beyond hope since his candidacy would ensure the Democrat taking the White House, but alas, me thinks the light bulb has finally flipped on for the media.

Just wait until the Huck faithful find out he took $52,000 in speaking fees last year from a trio of groups pushing the polar opposite of his professed views (H/T – Slublog)

This is a test: how far can an idiot advance if he wears his faith of his sleeve.

Steve: Why don’t we spell out what those views are? Huck took money from groups pushing embryonic stem cell research which is anathema to evangelical Christain conservatives. And he also took money from gun control groups.

Curt: Forgot to check if you had posted on the Huckster before I added my latest contribution. But the more the merrier I say!

Not much sign of a collapse either nationally or in the individual state polls, although he’s at least stopped rising. Online he’s definitely taken a hit in the past month (according to alexa and hitwise) but I don’t know that that really means much.
