The Dream Team: Paul-Kucinich ‘08

Posted by: Wordsmith @ 12:30 am in Ron Paul, Twoofers  | 4 views

Saw a real live Ronulan cruiser docked over by work, today:

 (Click for larger image)

Notice the truther stickers? So how is that distinguishable from this:

Do you see that bumpersticker that says "Department of Peace"? We have that dept. already. It’s called "The Department of Defense".

Some RPers claim there’s no difference between the Democrat Party and the Republican Party today. I ask, "what’s the difference between Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich?"

RP has moved so far to the right, he’s now to the left….whereas DK is so far to the left he’s….far to the left.

I kinda think that you guys would be the type of people 230 years ago would be bashing the the Boston Tea Party, deriding John Hancock for smuggling and ridiculing Samuel Adams for kinda being a shiftless hippy. You guys would be pointing out that the victims of the Boston Massacre really had it coming for insulting the Kings soldiers, and I bet that you guys would have been the first in line to be fitted for a Red Coat at the out break of the American Revolution.

You would have slapped each other on back and sung songs about God Saving the King, and would have gladly lined up shoulder to shoulder to smother out the Rustics little Revolution and nodded at each other approvingly chanting ‘for King and Country’, and assured each other that the Rebels were agents of the French.

Today, I imagine that you think yourselves patriots, supporting and defending a government that has become far more oppressive and intrusive than King George ever dreamt of being. You support the Status quo of a Party that has consistently decieved you doing the exact opposite of what it claimed it would do after the Reagan Revolution, a party that has increased the size and scope of an already bloated government and has sacrificed the lives of our soldiers, our wealth and our principles to engauge in a campaign of nation building orginially pursuited by Democrats like Wilson and FDR. You boys are not patriots, you boys are loyalists exchanging your God given liberty to serve a master who has no other guiding premise other than the whims of the mob and the dream of empire.

Now, at last, a real option emerges in Ron Paul. A man truly forged in the idealism of our founders, the real patriots who kicked the loyalist servants of the King out of this Country, and proudly proclaimed that they would serve no master. And like it was in the times of the Revolution you subserviant sicophants of ‘My Country Right or Wrong’ groupthink, rush to be first in line to try on the Red Coat and stand shoulder to shoulder to fight the cause of liberty, once again history repeats itself, and once again you side finds itself on the wrong side of history.

The Patriots were outnumbered and underfunded, but the new technology of movable type allowed the freethinkers of the time, such as Thomas Paine, to write Revolutionary treatise on Reason ans Human rights which inflamed the passions of the uncouth masses to rise up against the mightiest Empire on Earth, and freedom won.

So true today, the internet has provided a technology which stands the potential to usurp the mass media controlled by the few and delivered the power to spread ideas globally unimpeded, and to collect funds quickly and efficeintly directly from the common people. Have no doubt that this IS a rEVOLution, and this minority of passionate patriots will usurp you loyalist carpetbaggers and your apathetic supporters, watch and see!

Great IP!

as for Johnnyb’s post…man, I snarfed all over my monitor. That was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time-didn’t address a SINGLE point in the OP, and was truly a runaway hit as far as rhetoric. Outstanding.

btw, is it true that Ron Paul’s going to scrap all the US Navy’s carriers and trade them in for Bassmaster assault craft since there’ll be no reason to have a military beyond 12 miles of shore?

JohnnyB,

Beautifully written. And after watching Scott’s video, I’m deeply moved to tears.

Five stars.

I now understand how you think, JohnnyB, and that you are on the side of Revolution. I’m on the side of a tyrant who “dreams of empire”. I see that now.

Thanks for casting a light on things.

Long live King George! God save the King!

Down with Ron Paul Revere!

Down with the Ronulutionists!

…And if those 8 million people were killed en masse by this dictator or that terrorist, at least the killer would have been faced peacefully.

Scott, that was another one of your brilliant posts. I hadn’t seen the comment and your response before, and that was seriously the funniest thing I’ve read all day (sorry JohnnyB…but who knows? The day’s still young…):

Hello Scott Malensek,

Its pretty amazing to me that arpees try to imagine themselves as patriots in the Revolution. They would be the last people that could be relied upon to pitch in and would refuse to get involved because it would be a war of aggression. The arpees are the ones you read about that refued to get involved. They would want to talk things over with the British. Arpees never make sense and can never back up what they say with actual historical knowledge of what really went on when this country was finding it’s voice and place in the world.

There is nothing arpees would fight for because they stand for nothing other than making up stories about black helicopters filled with Israelis wearing Blue UN Helmets spraying chem trails and our own government flying planes into the Twin Towers.

In that film clip of the “Patriot” posted by Scot M. when the son picks up the flag and stuffs into his shirt because he knows what he has to do. The other soldier sitting on the log “says give up it’s a lost cause”. The true American spirit comes out of the young man and he continues to fight. You arpees are worthless to freedom you do us no good and are nothing but dead weight and you believe in nothing. Even though you attempt to quote the Constitution you have no concept of the Constitution and what it is these men meant when they said we must live free or die.

There are no black helicopters spraying chemtrails. The UN is a useless organization and they aren’t taking over our country. It’s you that and the leftwingnuts that are the problem because you don’t stand for anything and you won’t fight to be free. Relinquish your citizenship, you are not Americans and go live your nightmare somewhere else.

Johnnyb: You distort history with the same zeal you undermine the defense of our Constitution.

How dare you even type the name of Founding Father Samuel Adams!

He would have you for breakfast then go out and vomit the vile stew into a ditch!

You Paulians are the one third who would have done all in your power to fight against the Revolution and it’s cause and Samuel Adams would have said this to you:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

Gotta agree SJ, that was a short but powerful post Word. Doesn’t need a lot of words to show the similarities between the two candidates.

You would have liked the post-debate (last night’s, that is) interview with Ron Paul (unfortunately, I can’t find the video online). Someone asked him which of the Democrats he liked, if he had to choose one. He said Kucinich, citing that
- he and Kucinich were friendly on the Hill (which I can imagine, both being outsiders)
- Kucinich was also against the war
- Kucinich also supported civil liberties
- he also seemed to support national sovereignty (not sure what Paul meant here, perhaps he was thinking of DK opposition to NAFTA or something)

Anyway, to someone for whom war and foreign relations are front and center issues I can imagine that Kucinich and Paul are peas in a pod. Talk to someone who is really invested in health care issues or prolife/prochoice and you’d get a different perspective…

You arpees are worthless to freedom you do us no good and are nothing but dead weight and you believe in nothing.

I thought your problem with us wasn’t our lack of belief, but our belief in things that just weren’t so (paraphrasing Twain). As for the doing good and/or contributing to freedom, you can find RP supporters in the currently serving armed forces, assuming that would qualify in your eyes. Of course anyone who pays taxes is something of a contributor, but since that isn’t voluntary I could understand not counting it.

Relinquish your citizenship, you are not Americans

How do you think your ‘Gideon’s Band’ strategy would turn out on Election Day?

There is some overlap with Kucinich and RP. But not so much on Abortion and Health care (as was mentioned) and they are very different on Immigration, and the 2nd amendment as well.

I suppose you would find more overlap with Giuliani and Hillary, though. Both big with NAFTA, CAFTA, and supporting the UN. Both believe in the war on Muslims, Both want gun control, Both are pro-choice, you can’t trust either one. Hillary can fake a southern accent better, while Rudy looks better in a gown. They do disagree on Health care, where Hillary wants you to have what you already got, and pay for them that don’t have any. Rudy will leave you with what you got, and wave his hands about health savings accounts. Not much difference there.

I swear….reading YouTube comments is bad for your brain cells.

Nevetheless…this comment fits in nicely with this post:

seapoidog:

Dennis Kucinich is my second choice for President after Ron Paul. I am a Green Party member, but I am switching to Republican to vote for Ron Paul. I do however think Kucinich is a good honest man, though I disagree with him on some issues.

OctoBox:

SeaPoidog: You are right, Democrats should register Republican to put Ron Paul up as the Republican leader — He has the most sound voting record and is the only one for true liberty. Don’t let the R-vote scare you. OctoKev

What is an “arpee”? Ron Paul supporter?

How am I undermining the defense of the Constitution? Because I support a candidate thats against our unconstitutional foriegn policy?

Do you people understand that we are going bankrupt? That Social Security, medicare and Medicaid are going to bankrupt this country in my lifetime?

Do you understand how far this government has deviated from the orginal intent of the constitution?

Have you ever questioned what we are doing in Iraq and what benefit we are gaining by being there? Why do we have our military spread out all over the globe? Why do we have to spend as much on our military as the nearly the entire world combined? Don’t you think this is kinda of a waste of resources?

What is our goal in Iraq? We made sure that they do not have any WMDs, we got rid of Saddam and enforced all the UN resolution, we helped them set up a new government…What else is there left to do? Convert them to Christianity?

HAve you seen how the dollar is trading lately? Have you seen how our stock market can performed against gold or currencies like the pound, Euro or even the Canadian dollar? Are you not concerned by this?

Given that the US Dollar has long been the reserve currency of the World, why should foriegn banks continue to carry our debt and hold our money in reserve when its a losing investment? Given the importance of the US economy globally, have you considered the ramifactions of a US dollar collapse?

Why is it that I should be loyal to a government that disregards its constitutional limitations while it spends my future into wreckage? Patriotism? I think that patriotism has always been opposed to tyranical government, even if it is a democracy, that creates policies that are in contridiction to the fundamental role of government which is to protect my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

Through this war on terror and the underlying welfare state and general mismanagement my life is in greater jeapordy not only from some Islamic psychopath that is pissed about American Foriegn policy, but also from the ever increasing police state which also seems to be perpetually at war with individual liberty, and financially bankrupts the treasury which adversely affects my pursuit of happiness.

I owe the government no loyalty because it has failed to protect my basic rights, and has become a greater tyrannt than the tyrannt that it claims to have disposed.

9/11 pissed me off as much as any of you, but the terrorists can never be as big of a threat to our lives, liberties and prosperity than our own government. Ron Paul alone has the intent of restoring the Republic to its proper role and undoing the mistakes of the past century which have lead us down the path to our current state of affiars, which is our only of avoiding the perdition that most certainly waits in the future if we maintain our current path.

Wake up! Before its too late!

Seriously, who the hell wants to spend his evening answering a 101 rant questions with any amount of seriousness? johnnyb could consolidate all of his questions under one umbrella and ask me, “Why is the sky falling?” Then I could come back, and demand of him, “Be more specific, dammit!” Or more enigmatically, ask a question to his question: “Why is the glass half empty when it is also half full?”

If he expects me to wade through that, point by point, he better leave a substantial amount in the paypal tip jar.

radicals on both kucinich and pauls side like to say that the notion of a RP/DK ticket is impossible but even tho they differ on some core issues, i think if they got together they could work out compromises that could turn out to work even better.

and im not just some hippy idiot, i have thoroughly researched both’s sides and i am aware of some of the fundamental differences in their perception and vision of government, but i also believe that both of them are brilliant individuals and combined they could be capable of bringing about some great changes.

paul/kucinich 08… or kucinich/paul 08 either way they would have my support
