Democrats Flip-Flopping On Iraq

Posted by: Curt @ 8:05 pm in MSM Bias  | 1 views

So we now see the new direction the Democrats are taking on Iraq.  They see the handwriting on the wall for the September meeting and they are now getting out front of the tide.  You would have to be blind or completely biased to not see this.

Just watch this video of Durbin and Casey on Fox yesterday.   They spent some time in Iraq and they were asked about their trip and the progress they seen.

"We’ve been saying FROM THE BEGINNING that our troops are doing the job"

Oh really?  Is that in between the statements of quagmire, failing, and calling our troops terrorists?  The statements of "we can’t win!"

"The problem is that the President of the United States continues to insist on a stay the course policy"

Then what the flying hell is the surge?  Is that not a new strategy?  Sometimes I have to keep from banging my head on the table because of their sheer cowardice.  I was going to say stupidity but I don’t believe that.  They understand what they are doing but they are afraid for their political future if we win this thing.  So they flip like a fish.

If it had not been for these two nitwits and their compadres in defeatism we would never have had the extra troops on the ground to get to this point.  Do you know of ANY Democrats that supported the new direction of battle in Iraq?  No.  They fought the President at every turn.  They continually called for LESS troops, for complete withdrawal.  Now these cowards see the political tide turning and they are jumping out in front of it.

These kind of people are the exact opposite of Bush.  They will twist and turn, flip and flop, to appease the polls.  They have no real convictions, that care little for this country.  Only the power this country can give them.

These kinds of speeches and statements cannot be allowed to go unchallenged.  For years they have said the exact opposite, they cannot now have it the other way.

Durbin makes a point of saying that while yes, the surge is working, the Iraqi government isn’t.   So now that we are kicking the ass out of al-Qaeda and the insurgents, running them out of the rocks they hide under, now that isn’t good enough.  How long ago was this man calling our troops terrorists?  Telling everyone who would listen that we are losing the fight?  Telling us all that Iraq was in a state of civil war.

It wasn’t in a civil war then and it most definitely is not now.  You notice how you don’t hear that much anymore?

But what he fails to understand, or just refuses to understand, is that if we beat the enemy, a government will have the security to work through their problems.  Problems every new Democracy has.  The various sides don’t see eye to eye and they work it out.  But as long as we are beating the enemy it will work itself out.

These two guys are perfect posterboys for the Democrat party.  Do whatever, say whatever you have to get votes.  Country be damned, troops be damned, economy be damned.

We knew that then, we know it now.  But we must not allow them to change their stripes without being called on it.

Kathie summed it up in one sentence.

First Democrats were for more troops until President Bush put forward a plan for more troops, then they were against it.

They demanded a change in strategy and when Bush gave them a change in strategy they demanded a change in strategy. If we change strategy again they’ll demand we change our strategy.

It’s the same old thing: Whatever Bush is for, they are against. The question is, is the game wearing thin? Have enough people finally seen through the Democrat’s game?

Remember what Lincoln said: “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time [Democrats], but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

I was reading through some blogs last evening. One troll wrote that the successes of the Surge could be attributed to the election of a Democratic Congress in ‘06.

I would like to believe that there are enough people in the country that will see through the Dem lies. However when I take a close look at what our youth are being taught in school I have doubts. More and more people are letting politicians like Harry and Nancy and the MSM do their thinking for them. Schools are more interested in socializing the student than teaching independent thought, responsibility and discipline.
