Very interesting. Not only does Ron Paul give some credence to the Truther nuts he appears to have had a few racist viewpoints in his past. (h/t Weasel Zippers and The Saloon)

Paul reported on gang crime in Los Angeles and commented, "If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."

"Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal," Paul said.

Paul also wrote that although "we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers."

Stating that lobbying groups who seek special favors and handouts are evil, Paul wrote, "By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government" and that the goal of the Zionist movement is to stifle criticism.

Anyone really that surprised by this? Those damn Jews and Blacks……

Sigh….

I know, I’m spending a bit too much time on this fruitcake but there is just sooooo much ammo out there.

Here is the complete article for which he now appears to excuse by saying it wasn’t his writing in that newsletter….even tho it’s his newsletter.

When I ask him why, he pauses for a moment, then says, “I could never say this in the campaign, but those words weren’t really written by me. It wasn’t my language at all. Other people help me with my newsletter as I travel around. I think the one on Barbara Jordan was the saddest thing, because Barbara and I served together and actually she was a delightful lady.” Paul says that item ended up there because “we wanted to do something on affirmative action, and it ended up in the newsletter and became personalized. I never personalize anything.”

His reasons for keeping this a secret are harder to understand: “They were never my words, but I had some moral responsibility for them . . . I actually really wanted to try to explain that it doesn’t come from me directly, but they campaign aides said that’s too confusing. ‘It appeared in your letter and your name was on that letter and therefore you have to live with it.’”

Yeah….

Either way, as my previous posts on our Republican Kucinich have shown, this guy is a sad embarrassment.

If you’d bother to do a little research, you’d find out that Ron Paul DIDN’T write those words, but they appeared in his newsletter. he says it was a mistake and he takes full responsibility for it. Plus, he has written articles which appear on his congressional website OPPOSING racism.

The entire “Ron Paul is racist” bit was discredited a couple days ago. If you’re going to waste time, don’t do it spreading bogus information.

read the fact guy, he has a newsletter that circulates with his name on it. He regrets that those comments were made under his title but not from his mouth. keep trying though, because you guys keep finding duds for ammo. why don’t you talk about Rudy’s clients.

All I can say is that I don’t see Ron Paul hobnobbing with Saudi Arabia. If you remember that is the country that teaches radical Islam. Radical Islamists from Saudi Arabia were a big part of the attack on our country that happened on 911.
These distortions about Ron Paul are pretty funny. First he runs into some kids that want 911 investigated more. Then this is spun to that he automatically has to agree to all their wacky positions. I talk and have Democrat friends, but I don’t agree with most of their positions, but will hear them out.
Right now I am more concerned about the top “tier” of the Republican candidates. None of them have a record of being good on taxes, spending, or personal freedom. I line up Ron Paul versus them on all the issues and find that Ron Paul represents my views more than anyone. Of course the establishment Republicans are all gun ho on giving us another Bob Dole or George Bush. Those guys will always compromise towards big government. We need someone that will take us the other way.

Paul doesn’t have a chance in this race and the spamming of blogs, poll spamming and every other tactic used by the supports of Paul are only casting him aside from many who may otherwise have given him at least a look before they walked away.

There is simply no way to get enough lipstick and botox or plastic surgery to make the transition.

You have all totally misjudged the backlash you are forming from your own actions.

I suggest you re evaluate your methods and tactics.

I was amazed to see a real cantidate like Ron Paul actually get aired by the media. He’s mostly in a blackout, commented on it during the CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer. He’s one of the few good guys in a pit of hell we have in our federal government. Dennis Kucinich is the other man who could save our nation. Nobody can touch him however because he’s honest and intelligent and quick witted. It’s really amazing to watch him represent truth and freedom.

Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called “diversity” actually perpetuate racism. Their intense focus on race is inherently racist, because it views individuals only as members of racial groups.

I can’t see voting for either of the GOP front-runners. And since the Amnesty bill, the Republican party is completely dead to me. But I’m not so desperate or deranged that I’m going to throw myself at a nutjob like Ron Paul.

Funny how neither this site, or any other site it links to about Ron Paul’s alleged racism EVER sources (links to) his newsletter (including the Houston Chronicle). It’s easy to take sentences out of context, this is very weak propaganda.

You can really tell who the CENTCOM propagandists (tinyurl.com…) are when a true patriot shows up on the scene. Ron Paul is the ONLY anti-New World Order candidate.

The publication, or publications, comprised a business venture to which Ron Paul lent his name. Headquarters were Ã¢â‚¬Å“60 miles awayÃ¢â‚¬Â from Ron PaulÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s personal Texas offices. At the time that the publications were being disseminated, primarily in the 1980s, Ron Paul was involved in numerous activities including Libertarian politics. He eventually ran for U.S. president as a Libertarian.

Ã¢â‚¬Å“This was a big operation,Ã¢â‚¬Â says one source. Ã¢â‚¬Å“And Ron Paul was a busy man. He was doctor, a politician and free-market commentator. A publication had to go out at a certain time and Ron Paul often was not around to oversee the lay out, printing or mailing. Many times he did not participate in the composition, either.Ã¢â‚¬Â

This source and others add that publications utilized guest writers and editors on a regular basis. Often these guest writers and editors would write a Ã¢â‚¬Å“Ron PaulÃ¢â‚¬Â column, under which the derogatory comments might have been issued.

Says one source, Ã¢â‚¬Å“Ron Paul didnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t know about those comments, or know they were written under his name until much later when they were brought to his attention. There were several issues that went out with comments that he would not ordinarily make. He was angry when he saw them.Ã¢â‚¬Â

Ron Paul has said that he did not write the comments in question, but, nonetheless, has taken “moral” responsibility for them.

An excerpt from an apparent interview with Texas Monthly as quoted on the blog Everything2.com… clarifies the above information as follows:

“In spite of calls from Gary Bledsoe, the president of the Texas State Conference of the NAACP, and other civil rights leaders for an apology for such obvious racial typecasting, Paul stood his ground. He said only that his remarks about Barbara Jordan related to her stands on affirmative action and that his written comments about blacks were in the context of ‘current events and statistical reports of the time.’ He denied any racist intent. What made the statements in the publication even more puzzling was that, in four terms as a U. S. congressman and one presidential race, Paul had never uttered anything remotely like this.

his stance on race is the typical libertarian one and those puerile attempts to smear him aren’t going to reduce his popularity because he’s actually the only real conservative running for the Republican ticket and perhaps the only one that can beat Hilary/Obama. You’ll need a magnifying glass to see a difference between a Giuliani or a McCain presidency and a Hilary Clinton presidency. This guy is a real rightwing conservative patriot, right ? Seriously, what is Huckabee doing in the Republican Party, shouldn’t he be running for the Democratic Party nomination ? I have been researching more about Ron Paul in connection with these accusations of racism. His language generally convinces me that Ron Paul is absolutely NOT a racist.

On the other hand, he has associations with groups and personalities that have traditionally been labeled as such. It may be that he feels that some of their ideals and principles (having nothing to do with racism per se) are worthy and does not want to apologize for supporting those.

It’s good to see more information efforts to derail these false accusations of racism. I hope that what he notes about racism being an ugly form of collectivism catches on. I think our society would be greatly improved if more people understood that.

Many of the comments here raise very good counter-points and make it clear how grasping and weak the racist charges are. -Especially- the ones that point out his quote on racism being an ugly form of collectivism.

Hunh, amazing how quickly the roaches come running. The fact is, he is ultimtely responsible for what is published with his name on it, whether by editor or in person.

This all may be erroneous, but his isolationist ideals and his subscription to the so called ‘truthers’, makes him a dangerous person (to everyone).

This is an article written by Ron Paul and what he really has to say about Isolationism. The fact is, he’s been publicly quoted saying that he supports free trade and travel, so how does that make him an isolationist? People love their labels and they love to neatly file and tuck everything away with it’s proper label…the reason this man has caused such an frenzy is because you can’t label him. He has supporters from all parties and his views and consistent voting record do not fit into a nice little category, which in turn, confuses the simple minded masses and they get upset and start calling him a looney libertarian and an isolationist. It’s just a reaction to the apparent threat that he has posed. What you people don’t understand is that he’s fighting for YOU and YOUR RIGHTS while the media, giant corporations, and corrupt politicians continue to hack him to pieces. Why do they do this? The wealthiest 1% of our nation is doing just fine with the way things are and they certainly don’t want Dr. Paul over here upsetting that order. Think about it.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate running who really has the American people’s interest at heart. He’s not for big corporations and special interest. He never has taken a dime from these groups. The rest of the candidates have been bought and sold many times over… and YOU still believe their propaganda about “change”.

The fact that the only “dirt” that anyone can even find on Ron Paul comes from some newsletters written back IN THE 1970’s ought to tell you something. For one thing, he didn’t write the words, and doesn’t support the ideas.

Ron Paul has delivered over 4000 babies as an ob-gyn. He has never accepted Medicare or Medicaid in his medical practice because he doesn’t believe in taxing citizens to pay for other’s health care. The people he would not accept medicare from… HE TREATED FOR FREE. I bet Billary never did anything for anyone for free. I would venture to say that more than a few of those free baby deliveries were black babies. He also wants to end the “War on Drugs”, and he has stated many times that the “War” is very racially biased and the result is a disproportionate number of blacks in jail as opposed to whites.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
($75,000 this year alone. Who else does this?)

I can bring up so much dirt on the other 3 major candidates its not even funny. They have stolen, lied, cheated, bullshitted so many people it boggles the mind. If you want, I can send you the links… but it’ll take me awhile… I’ve got hundreds of them.

You people amaze me. If you’re going to dig up some dirt, at least make sure it’s real dirt.

If you’re going to slander someone, make sure it’s not someone with a heart of gold. Ron Paul has more integrity that all the other candidates put together. And he receives more monetary support from active duty military than all the other candidates put together. Another thing that should tell you something.

Get a life and vote for the “kook”. Otherwise… nothing will change. Watch. Vote democrat if you want to. We’ll still be in Iraq in 4 years… anyone want to wager?
