It was a PR-trick(very effective) for Die hard 4. They knew that the media would pick up the news that Bruce is such a stand up guy, just talking to fans like that. If you read all the text on the forum you'd see that there's a lot of people that actually believe it to be Bruce, but he keeps saying, "I can prove it's me" when only one person doubts. And later on when no one even cares to ask he keeps saying he wants to prove it's him. It was obviously paid by Apple as well, he says he's too stupid or lazy to learn how to use a PC, so therefore he uses a mac and only Ichat. Please open your eyes to these "scams". The PR-trick is a more developed form of a "buzz". It's a way to play with our minds when we least expect it. Please look up the term, it's not a secret, even though they'd like to keep it as secret as possible.
