The Centrist Barack Obama?

So Barack Obama tells the Iowa State University that every soldier who has died in Iraq fighting for this country was a waste:

Of course the soldiers over in Iraq don’t think the same thing. But what do they know right?

Meanwhile Steve Kroft had an interview with Mr. Obama in which the Presidential candidate is described as so:

MSNBC describes him as so last October:

In recent weeks, his political stock has been rising as a potentially viable centrist candidate for president in 2008 after former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner announced earlier this month that he was bowing out of the race.

Get that? He is constantly described as just left of center or a centrist. A centrist who thinks the lives of our soldiers have been wasted. A centrist who voted against Alito and Roberts, he is pro-abortion, against the death penalty, pro-gun control, votes to hike the minimum wage, against the Bush tax cuts, a global warming scaremonger and last but not least he wants socialist health care in this country. All this and he is a centrist?

The National Tax Limitation Committee gave him a score of 8 out of 100 (100 being the best 0 being the worst). For comparison sake Schumer was given an 8, so was Hillary and Byrd. Rockefeller was given a 0. So at least he was bit better then Rocky huh? The American Conservative Union gave him a score of 8 out of 100 on Conservative issues. Hillary was given a 9 along with Gore.

The Americans for Democratic Action, the liberal watchdog group, gives Obama a 100% in 2005 for his liberal voting record. They describe how they come to this number here:

Liberal Quotient (LQ) is the rating of a Member of Congress as determined by the percentage of votes cast in support of liberal policies, measured against the number of votes counted (20). For example, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) voted with the liberal position in all 20 selected votes, so his LQ is 100%.

He can be proud to stand with the others who had a 100% score like Boxer, Dodd, Biden, Kerry, Clinton and Schumer. In 2006 Obama did a bit better, he went down to 95% while Rockefeller fell to a 60% LQ.

The ACLU gives Obama a 83% score since he votes their way almost every single time meanwhile the League of Conservation Voters gives him a 100% score for his opposition to off-shore drilling and other evironut legislation.

All in all you can see how he could be described as a centrist right?
