I remember this event very well. All Police Officers were targets of the Muslim Farrakhan and his crew. Mayor John Lindsey had everyone in Lock Step at the expense of all the lowly cops. The Murder of a cop at the hands of these criminals would not stop the ambitions of Lindsey, Rangel, Ben Ward, et al. Bastards! Get the book. I couldn't put it down. Circle of Six

While reading a story about Mr Rangle being denied a spot as a speaker at the 2008 Democratic National Convention later this month, I was surprised to read a comment referencing the murder of NYPD officer Cardillo, and the part Mr Rangle played. I had respected Mr Rangle with mixed emotions, (based on some remarks he has made now and then in the past), but always thought he was OK.
Now that I see his involvement in this affair years ago, I would like to see the murder case reopened and Mr Rangle questioned. Surely, since he was there during the crime and promised that the shooter would turn himself in, he must have had first hand information as to the shooter/s of Officer Cardillo. After all these years it's time to find out.
As a former New Yorker, and a concerned citizen, I would like to remind all that, there is NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS on this crime of murder, and like any murder, there should never be any rest in the search for justice.

Mr. Rangle shouldn't be so concerned about speaking at the Democratic Convention, I believe he still has a little more speaking to do to the Cold Case detectives on this case first. Cases like this should Never be allowed to age by being placed on the shelf. Every member of ANY Police force is the Same as Officer Cardillo, but for luck and timing anyone could become a Carbon Copy of him. Only Justice in this and similar cases, brought about by dogged determination, will ever stop these murders of Police Officers.

Forget the convention, and who speaks there -----LETS TAKE CARE OF SOME OLD BUSINESS NOW! --- JM

This cowardly action by the department brass was an eye opener to me at the time. I had about 4 years in and assigned on uniform patrol in the 23 Pct. Times have not changed. Let the new guys be aware what they're dealing with.

I was 13 years old when this tragedy occured. I am 47 yrs. old an proud to say that I am a NYC Police officer. My heart aches wondering how those brothers of mine must have been feeling at that time. I have never heard about this until recently when a friend (retired MOS) showed me an email about the re opening of an investigation of that fateful day.I will buy this book and keep an eye open for new developments about this renewed investigation.May our brother R.I.P.
